Hacking Can't upgrade my r4
I recently found 2 r4s, one is(apparently) a really old and fake one, and the other is from r4i-sdhc and it has the 3ds mark in green so i guess it shoul be "new". I also recently updated my DSi Xl to 1.4.5E so i wanted to upgrade the card too, but this is what happens: I boot up the flashcart...- Bakeed

Hacking [Noob] Just found an old r4
Hello! I found this old r4 and i wanted to test it out so i tried to run it on my Dsi Xl and it gives me "An error has occured, press and hold the Power button etc etc." I tried updating the card but the problem is that i can't find the update that's right. The card has R4 written on it in caps...- Bakeed

Homebrew [Noob] Loading ROMs via SD card?
How does this hardmod work? does it require a lot of hardware skills? i tried searching for a tutorial but weirdly enough i couldn't find it despite being something so popoular(maybe i'm searching the wrong stuff)- Bakeed

Homebrew [Noob] Loading ROMs via SD card?
Helloo! Noob here. I just found my old Nintendo DS laying in a box filled with old stuff, i opened it and, despite all odds, it still works! i also found my old r4 i used to play games with, and i wanted to play one just for the sake of it. Unfortunatley the r4 was broken and it doesen't work...- Bakeed

I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs -

I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
