Took it apart and found that the ribbon cable that connects the SL and SR buttons to the main board was bent over itself causing a crease and had almost snapped in half. Hacking [RELEASE] WiiVC Injector Script (GC/Wii/Homebrew Support)
Windows 10 with all the latest updates. .net framework 4.7.1 I don't get an error msg, but Real_raff grabbed some screenshots of his error msg a few posts up. Ive tried reinstalling .net framework but it did not fix the issue.- SmokeyWubs

Hacking [RELEASE] WiiVC Injector Script (GC/Wii/Homebrew Support)
After 3.0.1 crashed whilst creating a GC inject, I am unable to open the program. Opening the exe just shows a quick loading wheel on my mouse pointer but fails to load. No error msgs are displayed. I've tried restarting the PC, moving the exe to another drive and using admin/compat modes...- SmokeyWubs

I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
