Gex and Tomba are both getting remastered releases on modern platforms

Now? Crash and Spyro have been on Xbox since the early-mid 2000s.

Nintendo and Sony update subscription policies in the U.K.

How is (and always was) PS3 online multiplayer completely free then?

PlayStation plans to give away 10 more games in the next few weeks, including Horizon Zero Dawn

Actually you don't. You can claim them through your browser, all you need is a PlayStation account - which is free. And whenever you get a PS4/PS5 in the future, they'll be sitting right there ready for you to be played.

    Homebrew Official Retroarch WiiU (wip.)

What happened to the Shaders option in the menu? I updated to the latest nightly build and it's gone. Why was it removed? :( Edit: Did some testing and it looks like the last build where shaders were still intact is 2019-06-17. With 2019-06-18 the "Shaders" option disappeared from the menu. I...

Ok that's weird. Sounds like the whole console is crashing if you have to reboot it. Because what I meant is that certain shaders simply gave me a black screen (while the music kept playing) but I could just switch to another shader or turn it off and the picture was back. The console or...

Which shaders did you try? There were some which also gave me a black screen. A good bunch of them doesn't work properly or at all. Some others may cause slowdowns. I haven't even tried that many, just the few I wanted to use. For instance, some shaders from the 'retro' folder do work fine...

@Radius4 Holy shit shaders! Thank you! Shaders were the last thing I was missing for a proper NES/SNES experience. I just tried them and they really work! Some are kinda glitchy or too heavy for the Wii U but the ones I personally care about (mostly from the 'retro' folder) work fine...

But Gamecube and Wii games run natively in Wii U's vWii mode. Running USB Loader GX from the Wii U mode doesn't make any sense. You can use a forwarder to launch it from the Wii U home menu, but the console would still switch into vWii mode.

Hacking [Scripts] DSiWare Conversion: Easily Convert To .NDS and .CIA Files!

Why is it that the resulting .cia file (when going from .nds to .cia) has a different hash after each conversion process, despite using the same .nds file? I tried 3-4 conversions with the same .nds game and it gave me different hash values every time. To me that means the conversion process...

Can anyone point me into the right direction of how I can get shaders to work? I read literally every line in this thread regarding shaders and did my research.. All I understand is that to make shaders work on the Wii U we need in addition to the .slangp files (which I found here...

Hacking A couple of questions before I finish hacking my 3DS

Personally I'm using "that title key site" to scan QR codes of games I want with FBI, which downloads and installs them directly. I find this quicker than loading up Freeshop and searching for games there. But of course that only works if you're near a PC/laptop/phone where you can open that...

I tried Online Updater > Update Databases. It's downloading a database-rdb.zip but afterwards I couldn't find it anywhere on my SD card and playlist creation still doesn't work. What am I doing wrong?

I don't even use a playlist. For me it crashes when simply switching roms from Load Content > Downloads. How can I create a playlist inside Retroarch? I tried the Scan Directory option under "Collections" and under "Import content", it just scans through the content but the roms don't appear...

I've upgraded to 1.6.0 and also getting crashes quite often with the error code 160-2203. It happens only when switching between SNES roms, though. (Snes9x) No issues with NES (Nestopia) or GBC (mGBA) from what I can tell. Is 1.6.0 not stable? I didn't have this problem with 1.4.1. I'm using...

Hacking The Definitive vWii Hacking Guide!

I have a question regarding CFG USB Loader on vWii. Is it somehow possible to load installed channels with this loader? I need to force 60 Hz mode for NTSC N64 VC games because they don't run properly on a European console but I can't find an option to make NAND channels visible. Only found a...

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm doing too. I don't even use Freeshop. Easier for me that way.

both of which work well in potplayer
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
amd is a bit cheaper though
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Cheaper and they are less stingy with the RAM not a big issue now but I can imagine in a yard or two things might be different
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Year not yard lol
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the vram is one advantage when it comes to AI but ends up being slower even with that and really AI is the only use case that needs more than 12gb vram right now
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Interesting lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think I watched a video where two games at 4K where eating just over 16GB of RAM and it's the one case where the 7900XT and XTX pulled ahead (minus RTX of course)
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So my opinion is that they could age a bit better in the future, and maybe AMD will continue improving them via drivers like they tend to do. No guarantee there but they have done it in the past. Just a feeling I have.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
cyberpunk at 4k without DLSS/fidelityfx *might* exceed 12gb
    +1
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but that game barely runs at native 4k
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think it was some newer games and probably poorly optimized PS4 or PS5 ports
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
they definitely will age better but i feel dlss might outweigh that since it looks about as good as native resolution and much less demanding
    +1
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
When I played Cyberpunk on my old 2080 Ti it sucked lol
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
AMD could introduce something comparable to DLSS but nvidia's got a lot more experience with that
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
least amd 7xxx has tensor cores which the previous generations didn't so there is the potential for AI upscaling
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
They have FSR or whatever it's called and yeah it's still not great
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
so AMD seem to finally be starting to take AI seriously
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Oh yeah those new 8000 CPUs have AI cores built in that's interesting
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Maybe they plan on offloading to the CPU?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Would be kinda cool to have the CPU and GPU working in random more
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Tandem even
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i think i heard of that, it's a good idea, shouldn't need a dedicated GPU just to run a LLM or video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the nvidia shield tv has AI video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
LLMs can be run on cpu anyway but it's quite slow
