I'm far less knowledgeable on the software side of things, but a quick fundamentals check -
Do games still run off of disc?
I ask because there hasn't been a new Wii manufacturered in quite a few years, and unfortunately, all CD-ROM drives fail over time.
If your games still work off of disc...
A cheap complete gaming rig is going to run around $1000 (PC, monitor, peripherals).
A Wii is $50 w/controllers (at least in Australia), and a TV under $200 (which you probably already have).
Seems like a no-brainer if all you want to do is play Wii games.
Every router is different - you'll need to log into your router and go through the configuration settings to find it.
Best bet is to enter the brand and model number along with 'user guide' in Google, or find someone local to do it for you if unsure.
There's over 100 million Wiis out in the world, and they haven't disappeared - check any auction site, and you'll see people still buying them.
Plus due to Just Dance's online component, Ubisoft would know exactly how many active users there are out there. I'm sure they ran the numbers and the...
Probably the flash drive.
I realise that this is not a satisfying answer, but some flash drives work, an some don't - even when using the same brand and model.
I've had better luck formatting flash drives as WBFS rather than FAT32 (using WiiBackupManager), but it could be coincidence. Flash...
Yes you can play Wii backups from an SD card, just not with USB Loader.
WiiFlow and CFG Loader are the most popular options for using the SD Card instead of a USB drive (although I'm not sure how up-to-date CFG Loader is these days). If you search the forums, you should find tutorials on how to...
The disc drive is the component most likely to burn out through usage over time.
Other than that, so long as it's not too hot or too dusty, it should last a good long time. But alas, all things eventually wear out. :(
The data in the original output simply isn't there. Since the maximum output of the Wii is 480p, every game made for it is going to have a maximum resolution of 480p.
If you are using an upscaler, it doesn't magically create higher-resolution image from nothing. Upscaling spaces out the...
You may be trying something that just won't work. As GreyWolf said earlier in this thread, " Flash drives almost always seem to work like crap on the Wii."
I've gotten some to work, and others just won't - even when the same brand purchased at the same time. I've had better luck formatting...
Quick answer: yes.
Slightly longer answer - you will need to install a backup loader (USB Loader GX and WiiFlow seem to be the most popular) to do so. If you search these boards, you can find tutorials on how to do this.
As far as finding wii games to download, you're on your own - while...
I don't know about WiiFlow lite, but USB Loader GX uses Nintendont to run Gamecube games (it pretty much acts like a forwarder to the Nintendont app when you select a GameCube game) - so the the adapter should work in USBLoader GX if it works in Nintendont.
That would be the, "flash drives" are flaky phenomenon. :teach:
Seriously, flash drives do crazy things on Wii. Some work, some don't, the same brand, model and batch sometimes work and sometimes don't - I've got no idea why.
There is a weirdness I discovered with the Wii Classic Controller Pro (not the Wii U). For some reason, it doesn't work with Wii64 - I have to use the standard Wii Classic Controller for that.
I may switch to Not64 the next time I get a hankering to play Mario 64.
I'm in my late 30's with a 5yo at home. I started gaming in the mid-80's - and Atari2600, then a Colecovision, then NES (where I started the Final Fantasy series with *gasp* Final Fantasy!), a Genesis/Mega Drive in my teens, an N64 in uni (college), then a PS2, and now a Wii.
So I'm a gamer...
Yes, yes, maybe, and yes. (I think that's all of them!)
I have an official one that I got when I bought Monster Hunter Tri and have never had an issue. However, I haven't used Not64, so I'm not sure.
