Hacking [RELEASE] X-PROJECT 5.05 SELF HOST

Ah, amazing. I'll definitely set this up then, launching the exploit every time I boot is kind of a hassle. Thank you very much!

Hacking [RELEASE] X-PROJECT 5.05 SELF HOST

Can I ask a quick question? I've used AlAzif's DNS exploit till now, it worked well, maybe a kernel panic or two every month or so, but I'd like to try this as well. However, how is the PSVR support? I usually run HEN with VR support over there whenever I need to use it (I think it's HEN 1.7)...

Hardware What is this strange blue-ish blotch on my gamepad screen?

Good day, members of GBATemp. Recently I installed HaxChi onto my Wii U (avoided CBHC, I don't want to risk it), everything works smoothly, no problems whatsoever. I recently noticed two things on my gamepad: 1) some minor backlight bleeding (nothing to worry about from what I read) 2) THIS...

Hacking My Wii U will arrive soon so I have several questions

Hello, fellow members of GBATemp. Firstly, I want to apologize for posting this thread. I want to prepare myself for modding my Wii U. Having a history of hacked consoles such as the Wii, 3DS, Xbox 360 and PlayStation consoles, I decided to give the Wii U a go. It has some pretty irresistible...

Hacking A safe way to re-obtain my PS3 digital games?

As other people already said, you'll need a rap file for each game, copied to "exdata" and using ReActPSN. It's possible to generate your own rap file, but it might be a bit too complex for you so I'd suggest you to avoid doing that. Try looking at the games on PSNStuff once more. Maybe you...

    Hacking MAME on PS3?

I heard MAME 2003 works a wee bit better than MAME 2000 (it's not built in with the stable Retroarch pkg), you might want to give it a try. I couldn't download it since Download Cores doesn't work for me, but you could find them, even here on GBATemp. But don't get your hopes up. The...

Hacking Is there any way or tool to invert Y-axis in games not supporting it?

You would have to hack every single game that you want to, and that requires advanced hacking skills. I use normal camera controls, but there are some games that have fixed inverted camera controls (such as LoZ:WW and FFXII) so I know your feeling.

Hacking Problem with Kingdom Hearts 1.5 Remix

Yeah, most likely a bad dump. You could try to convert to ISO, that fixed the loading issues with GoW Collection for me.

    Hacking MAME on PS3?

Just checked it, the latest version of Retroarch has two arcade cores (FB Alpha 2012 and MAME 2000), not sure about the comptability but it should play most non-demanding games at normal speed. So, just get Retroarch. It's prohibited to share download links of romsets and such, so look for...

    Hacking External Drive

A possibility is that the HDD has hidden partition(s) that prevent the HDD from working. Here is what I did: 1) open cmd.exe with administrator privleges 2) type "diskpart" 3) type "list disk". Now, there should be numerous hard disks shown, select the one with your external HDD 4) type "select...

    Hacking External HDD problem.

Okay, I had a lot of problems with my HDDs (a 500GB one and a 250GB one). I fixed the issues with both, so I'm gonna share my solutions with you. The 500GB HDD either didn't work or disconnected in matter of seconds (it actually worked fine on my laptop). Buying a new external case fixed it...

ROM Hack [THE] 3DS Translation Request Topic

I was so damn sad when I saw the news, I went here straight away to see if anyone already posted a translation request (I'm a huge DQ fan). And of course there is. And this game most likely will start getting translated soon because of the popularity of the series. So, I also ask for that...

Hacking Are these temperatures and fan speed safe?

So now, once my room temperature is more normal and my room is not as stifling as it was before (spring came so I can finally open my window a bit) the CPU/RSX temperature is quite low now. I tested Atelier Iris and Persona 4 (PS2 games) and GTA San Andreas (the PS3 version). These aren't very...

Hacking Are these temperatures and fan speed safe?

Is that with the Slim? If yes, then it's pretty much like my setup: 35% min. fan speed and 65°C max. CPU/RSX temperature. It seems that the console is still in good condition. I'll take good care of it and clean it regularly. It has enough space (around 20cm at each side) but I'll free some...

Hacking Are these temperatures and fan speed safe?

Thanks for the advice, it seems I learned it the hard way. I opened it up and cleaned the dust (it wasn't too dusty actually) and tried it again, the temperatures and fan speed remain the same. I won't go further than that since it's normal for a PS3 Slim that's jailbroken to be noisy because of...

Hacking Are these temperatures and fan speed safe?

Nobody could tell. It didn't even show the red LED light. Took it to an expert and he said he cannot find the issue. Maybe something happened to the motherboard? So, the fan speed shouldn't be an issue if it keeps the temperature down or what?

Hacking Are these temperatures and fan speed safe?

So up to 55% fan speed on a Slim is normal? And the temperature is fine as well? I wouldn't apply thermal paste myself, I already broke one PS3 trying to do it. I think I'd send it to an expert. I also ordered a vertical stand since I heard that the console has better airflow while in that...

Hacking Are these temperatures and fan speed safe?

So, just recently I bought an used PS3 Slim CECH-2004B with a 250GB HDD. I didn't have any issues yet, didn't encounter any freezes (unless I made a bad rip) or sudden shutdowns. I, being paranoid as hell, am asking you - would these temperatures be good: CPU - 63°C-65°C RSX - 60°C-62°C? That's...

Hacking Some issues with the usage of a NTFS drive

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. Initially I also thought that the HDD didn't get enough power since it started appearing while I charged my controller, but that wasn't the issue. I got it solved by getting a completely new hard drive case. I think there were some issues with my previous one, such...

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
