Hacking Theory: Limited SysNAND Restore Count on N3DS

Is this on the N3DSXL? Which model? And it's confirmed? I don't know, I just had the idea, as this is what I would do if I were Nintendo. :rofl2: Also, anyone want to be a guinea pig and try on their N3DS?? :rofl2: FOR SCIENCE?? auto You don't have to be polite. I can take it. It was...

Hacking Theory: Limited SysNAND Restore Count on N3DS

This is just a theory. Maybe Nintendo has placed a finite counter on the SysNAND of N3DS's before it completely turns off and stops functioning. As there have been cases where people have bricked their SysNAND's (myself included) due to restoring the SysNAND a lot of times. There is another...

Hacking I think I bricked guys!

You're welcome. If I didn't like Xenoblade Chronicles so much I wouldn't have helped your ass. Just kidding. I woulda helped no matter what. Just read the guide. The part where it says to take the SD card out is in there. You just need to stay calm and read. Don't panic - cos that's when...

    Hacking Can't boot into Luma3ds / Rednand

Sounds like you have uncart's 'arm9loaderhax.bin' in the root of your SD card. Because when you extract from the zip it's called 'arm9loaderhax.bin' and can cause confusion. You need to rename that to x_uncart.bin or y_uncart.bin (I forget which button it is) and place it in the luma/payloads/...

Hacking Has anyone Bricked there redNAND / emuNAND while using TinyFormat?

I'd say try about 5-10 times to make sure. Or more depending on your patience level. But in the case that it isn't booting, you can always restore the emuNAND and start over I think. It's just emuNAND. It's like Groundhog Day :rofl2:

    Hacking So...is my N3DS dead?

Will do :) From what others have said, the corruption is normal. This is an effect of A9LH. So, the corruption is to be expected. This is plausible as I read a few threads about the 3DS not being able to boot into home menu because of Wifi or Camera software/hardware malfunctions.

    Hacking So...is my N3DS dead?

Thanks for your continued help SirBeethoven :) but I sent my 3DS into Nintendo for repairs this morning. I'll wait for them and report anything interesting that they might have to say that can shed light on what the problem was.

Hacking Has anyone Bricked there redNAND / emuNAND while using TinyFormat?

Sometimes it takes a few tries to boot into it. This is a menuhax/hombrew quirk I think. It's got a ~70% success rate. Sometimes, that 30% fail-rate can decide to happen 5-6 times in a row :rofl2:

    Hacking So...is my N3DS dead?

This remains a mystery. It could have been a cia install, A9LH or just general hardware fault. I've got A9LH on a few other consoles and they all seem fine so I don't think it's A9LH. We can't really avoid certain things sometimes as in my case. But always keeping multiple back ups of your OTP...

Hacking FBI 2.2.1 Becoming Unresponsive During Cia Installs

Awesome. Thanks for the enlightenment. I installed another version of FBI and I've tested it for about the last hour or so and it seems to be more stable than the exact same one injected into the HS app. It's version 2.2.1. I guess I won't be using the HS App version anymore.

Hacking FBI 2.2.1 Becoming Unresponsive During Cia Installs

FBI 2.2.1 was a great upgrade. I find it's faster than BBM at installing cia's. But lately it's been more prone to becoming unresponsive during long installs or larger titles. Has anyone experienced this issue or is it unique to my experience? I am using version 2.2.1 - the default one injected...

Hacking List of possible ways to brick your 3DS/2DS/N3DS.

This is based on what? hahah. I have done it five times now. 4 N3DS's and a 2DS. I bricked one of them, but the reason behind it was probably human error or hardware failure to be honest. I'd say Plailect's guide is reasonably safe. Even in the hands of a noob like me - as long as you follow...
