Homebrew whats the point of .3ds files when we have .cia files? can anyone explain?

Except...They can say for sure Nintendo can't patch it. It relies on a vulnerability early in the boot process - as long as you're running A9LH and Luma/another FIRM0/FIRM1 protecting CFW, Nintendo can't safely patch it out without shrecking everyone else too, hacked and unhacked, and might not...

    Hacking Mayor Issue with FreeShop

I don't mean to be rude - but I'd say there is a really good CIA installer, called eShop, built right in. If you do backup CIAs from a cartridge, you can also use FBI, it's just a CIA installer. Anyway, did you try doing what a couple people here have suggested - going into the settings app...

    Homebrew 3DS Emulator-on-Homebrew Problem

Good question. It shouldn't be affected, especially if it started without the RetroArch folder/files. If you download nightlies it's changed to snes9x2002.

    Homebrew 3DS Emulator-on-Homebrew Problem

You'll need the correct RetroArch folder for your version. Download either the latest stable or nightly, and put the RetroArch folder on the root of your SD card. :) You may want to install the CIA files from whatever version you choose, too, YMMV.

    Hardware N3DS XL Hardmod

Do you mean four DAT points? Or do you mean the 3 other points near the CLK? I'd say soldering to the other 3 points might be bad.

Hardware N3DSXL auto power off and makes popping sound

Hmmm. I've had the same thing happen - after a hardmod though. I haven't found a fix yet but I think it is the top screen connector.

Homebrew [Browserhax] idea about delaying update nag

No, but it's past a soft brick, it was not bootable. I have 10.5 and am installing a hard mod now. To stay on topic here: What I've learned is that there is a flaw with the N3ds browser that for some reason loads a page without waiting for the response back from Nintendo's server. I think it...

Homebrew [Browserhax] idea about delaying update nag

Yeah, I got past the nag, with the DNS set to tubehax. :D However I got a crash halfway through the downgrade - sadly.

Homebrew [Browserhax] idea about delaying update nag

Oh, I'm on a N3ds, I'll try the save data init. Edit: Sorry boss, no change. Maybe I'll hardmod, we'll see...

Homebrew [Browserhax] idea about delaying update nag

I like the tutorial but sadly it seems to not help if you format - the nag stays, I get an error about network environment.

Hacking [Release] Yellows8's Homebrew Launcher Loader for CFW users (.cia HBL Launcher!)

With SSB you can set up hax though? You may be able to boot into Pasta mode and then install a CIA of the browser? Or use FBI 3dsx to install it maybe? Edit: DO PLEASE BE CAREFUL THOUGH. Remember messing with CIA installs on NAND/sysNAND files can brick your 3DS.

    Hacking NDS to CIA convertor

Huh. I had the same output. I wonder what it does? Did you try putting the NDS rom on the card with the CIA? edit: I have EMUNAND on the 3ds, and a PC I don't care about/can wipe easily for the EXE so I ran it - but don't run if you aren't certain of what you're doing and can lose.

Hacking [Release] Yellows8's Homebrew Launcher Loader for CFW users (.cia HBL Launcher!)

I had that happen too, however holding X and Y together fixed it - downloading a new payload, and ignoring the saved one. YRMV
