Hacking SWITCH NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here

I'm new to the Switch, just recently got myself one and I'm patiently waiting for hax now (it's patched). Anyway, hexkyz (on twitter) is supposedly dropping a userland exploit soon. What are the implications of this? I'm guessing homebrew similar to ninjhax on the 3DS? Emulators, savegame...

Misc Debunking the banwave claims that seemed to be going around

I never swapped seeds, and mine got banned.

Misc Debunking the banwave claims that seemed to be going around

Well, yea, I was / am with people like you on this. It just seems weird. The thing is, we do actually seem to have very specific cases that suggest the 1.2 update may be involved. And we have cases where people just didn't get banned despite using pirated 1.2 online. Meh :/ Edit: It would be...

Misc Debunking the banwave claims that seemed to be going around

I wouldn't, if you fear a ban. At least not without a public LFCS, until we can rule out the 1.2 update with absolute certainty, if that's ever gonna happen. All I said was we have mixed data suggesting different stuff. The culprit may very well still be the 1.2 update AND metadata / telemetry...

Misc Debunking the banwave claims that seemed to be going around

I've seen people claim that they've been playing pirated copies of USUM 1.2 and not getting banned btw. We're back to square 1 I guess, if we ever got any further than that.

Oh it actually says that if it's temporary? Didn't know that. Guess I can stop periodically checking my old private seed then >.>

B would be banned too. I don't think so. But the majority is.

Misc Debunking the banwave claims that seemed to be going around

Unfortunately no. I have installed the updates as a CIA using FBI (downloaded w/ CIAngel), and I still got banned. Base UM CIA also created with CIAngel I believe, US installed w/ freeShop. That is what I've been thinking, but someone in this thread claimed (on page 6 I believe) that this is...

Misc Debunking the banwave claims that seemed to be going around

I didn't know this and I agree with your point. That is incredibly useful sample data supporting the 1.2 patch theory. Thanks for sharing. I based my original hypothesis on Occam's razor (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occam's_razor), but it appears like we do have more precise and more useful...

Misc Debunking the banwave claims that seemed to be going around

It just seems weird to me that Nintendo would add a check for known homebrew files (or some similar basic homebrew detection) to a *Pokémon* update. If I were a multi billion dollar company, I'd probably prefer to keep code that has nothing to do with Pokémon out of my Pokémon codebase. On the...

Misc Debunking the banwave claims that seemed to be going around

Did anyone bother gathering any data and coming up with solid evidence that Pokémon is in fact the culprit? Could just as well be telemetry data after all. Like people using homebrew cias and connecting to the internet at the same time, or right after the fact. Seems like an easier way to spot...

Misc Debunking the banwave claims that seemed to be going around

As long as you make sure you're changing the actual serial number (and not random parts of the SecureInfo_A file), you should be fine randomly changing any number of bytes except the first two (leave those untouched). Edit: Beat me to it.

    Hacking Localfriendcodeseed_A

I agree with the don't necrobump thing (and I'm only making things worse with this comment...), but the very last bit is actually wrong. LFCS_As do exist. It should be the same thing though - they're believed (or known, even) to be interchangeable. Edit: small typo

Hacking Does a flashcart with ntr require a micro sd inserted for the exploit to work?

This depends on the flashcard. I have heard of at least one card that *does* require an sd to be inserted, for whatever weird reason. The majority doesn't though.

Misc Debunking the banwave claims that seemed to be going around

This can't be the trigger because while I do have US and UM, and both of them on 1.2, I did not update through the eShop and I still got banned.

Homebrew ALL 3 Methods to get unbanned from recent ban wave

Btw method 3 isn't exactly dead. It depends on the kind of ban you have, I suppose. Just successfully got around a 002-0102 by literally just replacing the LFCS_B with another one.

Gaming Seeking help with VC Gold/Silver/Crystal stuck on 3ds screen

9.6 to be precise, I know. Not sure if I clarified, but the CIA I tried on my 9.2 nand was actually the one I cryptofixed myself. I DID try multiple cryptofixed CIAs as I stated above, and you are correct, I shouldn't even need one since I have the correct seed installed. Updating was...
