Hacking Emulation of Wii U: Beginner's Questions

Hey, everyone. I'm a longtime Wii U user with interest in playing emulated titles on it. I've done some research both here and elsewhere, but am not sure if I have everything right. I was hoping I could get a few points clarified. There is no Wii U-specific emulator; I would need to download...

    N64 Rom Hacking

Can I jump in on this discussion? I am also very interested in N64 ROM hacks, and especially interested in the possibility of hacking done for Mario Kart 64. It's my favorite game, and one I regularly play throughout the year. I've made a point to check for updates on its hacking progress, but...

Hacking Making Mario Kart DS Multiplayer/Online

Thanks for the comments. I'm not especially tech-informed, but it seemed to me that in the case of Mario Kart DS and similar games it should theoretically be possible to enable functionality considering it originally had it. Turning on and redirecting a signal should be easier than having to...

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
