Hardware Debugging faulty BCM4356 / orange screen / boot loop

Thanks for the detailed update. @OniRj and me are buying some tools and soon we will be able to start experimenting since we already have got 3 units to play around swapping parts. @GrimDim how are you planning to experiment with reprogramming the BCM4358 ? It should be the case of figuring...

Hardware Debugging faulty BCM4356 / orange screen / boot loop

Hey guys, I have an NS recently bought with an orange screen and the same problems described by @GrimDim and it seems the problem is the infamous BCM4356. I have a donor board ( since new BCM4356 seems not to work due to software issues ) however I am a bit unsure about reballing or swapping...

Hardware Error 160-1402 : microcomponent (transistor) was faulty ! It's working now !

Hi guys, I've got busy and forgot to update this thread. Alright, I have managed to partially fix error 160-1400/160-1402 replacing the IC you guys see in the pictures attached. I'm saying partially fixed because although the console does not fail to boot with error 160-1400 anymore the DVD...

Hardware Wii u 160-1400 error - No Disk

:wink::wink: I believe I know which ICs he is talking about : B-) You can see in one of the pictures that there is one IC that I'm pretty sure it is the memory ( RAM and you don't need to replace it, I did just for testing ) and in the other there is where the firmware ( and where the...

Hardware Error 160-1402 : microcomponent (transistor) was faulty ! It's working now !

Hiya, I've got the same error after buying a new Disc Drive and replacing the PCB. I've tried to swap around some IC's, but the same error hunted me again. I was googling around and found you mentioning about a faulty transistor. Do you have any references about this component and where it is...

Hacking Is it possible to extract the drive key ?

Nahhh I've already tried a PCB replacement. If I swap around it works ( with error ), so it narrows down the problem to the PCB itself. Well I'll plug in my soldering station this week and try some IC transplants, let's see what I get. Anyway thanks for your help guys :D I'll update this post if...

Hacking Is it possible to extract the drive key ?

It makes sense. Since my drive is gone even if there was a way/tool to extract its key, it would be useless to me. Well my only option would be swap around the ICs from the PCBs as planned before. By chance do you guys have a clue in which IC the key should be stored ?

Hardware Wii u 160-1400 error - No Disk

I've got busy and will start working again into this. Dude I don't believe a reflow will solve this problem, cause if the bga was the problem the wiiU would not boot with the new drive, it should behave the same with any drive. I was reading a bit about the guys unlocking the system and it seems...

Hardware Wii u 160-1400 error - No Disk

Hi mates !!! I had the same problem with a Wii U unit I've bought faulty. When powered on after 2~3 seconds of blue light it went to a blinking red light and black screen (apparently when it was trying to access the DVD drive). Even knowing that the DVD is bonded to the motherboard by a key...
