Gaming Retail Bravely Default. How to convert old encrypted save into new one?

Hi, OP here. I have successfully exported the save from the retail using savedatafiler while in GW mode (the sysNAND fw is still 4.5 btw). I then tried to test whether the save works by importing it to the same game installed via CIA on a different 3ds system (this one has the new sysNAND fw)...

Gaming Retail Bravely Default. How to convert old encrypted save into new one?

Hmm okay, I thought CFW could play .3ds/.3dz files just fine; so at least my GW set will not be totally useless lol. Thanks for the help guys, really appreciated it. It's action time now! Hope I am not going to screw up my save.

Gaming Retail Bravely Default. How to convert old encrypted save into new one?

I see, so fw 10.7 is a no-no. Just one more question, is GW still a thing now? From what i've read so far, everyone is using CFW or something of the sort, and since it lets us play both ROMs and retails and doesn't require doing the exploit every time you turn on the system. Is it more advisable...

Gaming Retail Bravely Default. How to convert old encrypted save into new one?

Thank you for the very informative reply. Yeah I already understand that if an old encrypted save is opened on a new 3ds system, it will be corrupted, that's why I've been searching for a proper way to convert the save without destroying it. I'll definitely try your suggestion out and hopefully...

Gaming Retail Bravely Default. How to convert old encrypted save into new one?

Good day. I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to ask, but here goes. The retail Bravely Default cartridge that I have uses the old save encryption method (non-KeyY 6.0 method) since I started it with my old sysNAND fw 4.5 (I used Gateway emuNAND fw 9.x to play the game, if that helps). I...

Hacking Old save encryption retail Bravely Default playing on current SysNAND

Hmm...then let me sum this up: 1. Have an o3DS using Gateway 3DS (SysNAND fw4.5 + emuNAND fw 9.x) 2. Have a retail BD game with old encrypted save (Non KeyY 6.0) 3. Download SaveDataFiler or JKSV 4. Extract save using either program to have a decrypted file. 5. Put the game in a 3DS (current...

Hacking Old save encryption retail Bravely Default playing on current SysNAND

Thanks, I'll have a look at these programs, but can you tell me if they can convert the save into the new encryption format? Because if it's only about extracting save files, then I believe Gateway can do it as well. Like I said, it's been more than 1 year and I'm pretty much in the dark now lol.

Hacking Old save encryption retail Bravely Default playing on current SysNAND

So I have an o3DS fw4.5 that I haven't been touching for like a year and a half. Last time I played, it was a retail Bravely Default with old save encryption method (non KeyY 6.0 savefile) playing on my Gateway 3DS (emuNAND 9.smth, dont really remember lol). I also heard that if you played a...

Hacking Q regarding retail games save file when switching to the NN3DS

Got it, thanks a lot gamesquest1! Well I guess the new 3ds will have to wait for a bit more then. Hopefully the GW team will find a way to go around with the old encrypted saves.

Hacking Q regarding retail games save file when switching to the NN3DS

What I fear is that after being played with a new 3ds, the retail cartridge will no longer be able to work with a 4.x encrypted save file. I can still backup the save (well, i will :D) but there'll be no point if the cartridge refuses to work with it afterward.

Hacking Q regarding retail games save file when switching to the NN3DS

Thanks for the quick reply. Oh well, that really blows :(. So say, if I backup my current save file and then play the game with the new 3ds. After that, can the save be restored when I want to play the game with the GW again?

Hacking Q regarding retail games save file when switching to the NN3DS

Hi, I asked this question on the Games&Content board but didnt get a clear answer. So I have been using GW Classic mode to play my retail Bravely Default game (my sysNAND is 4.x, while emuNAND is 9.5). With the release of the new 3ds, I'm planning to play all of my current and future retail...

Gaming Q regarding retail games save file when switching to the NN3DS

Thanks for the reply, Gettwobirdsstone, that's exactly what I fear may happen to my cart. I have invested far too much in the game to see the save file gets deleted. Hopefully someone will know the answer :(

Gaming Q regarding retail games save file when switching to the NN3DS

Hi, so I have been using GW Classic mode to play my retail Bravely Default game (my sysNAND is 4.x, while emuNAND is 9.5). With the release of the new 3ds, I'm planning to play all of my current and future retail games on the new system, while still keeping the old 3ds for playing ROMs. The...

Hacking GW retail game save file got deleted after dumping

So the test worked as intended? Well I for one would love for a warning window to pop out just like when you choose the format emuNAND, something like: "Warning, this will delete everything in slot 1 and make you a sad panda!", something like that... Well, at least now I know the cause of my...

Hacking GW retail game save file got deleted after dumping

Oh damnit, yes I did! I was like hey before I upgrade to the new GW, why not try all of its functions first... I did the diagnostics test before dumping and after realizing that my save is gone, I ran the test again, just great... Thats probably it. I didnt really keep myself updated with all...

Hacking GW retail game save file got deleted after dumping

That's what I feared :(. Are you saying that after I dumped the save, the moment I turned on the game is when I wiped out everything? How is that even possible :(? Since this is a retail card, whatever I do to the game should be stored in the card itself, not the SD card right? The dumped save...

Hacking GW retail game save file got deleted after dumping

Well I tried that as well, and when I changed the save file to Bravely Default'sID.sav, the restore save function just popped out an error message and kicked me back to the GW menu. But when I used the save file's initial name, the restoring process worked no problem, but then when I entered the...
