    According to my research into this, not without 1. Modifying DRH's firmware to send more data over the I2C bus, or 2. Somehow leaving the GamePad in Wii U mode and modifying haios to communicate using the USB bus as Wii U does Both of these sound very hard to achieve to me.

    Yeah, from what I've read it makes sense that IOS reloading is blocked. I mean, it's the IOS that deals with emulating the wiimote (and even initializes the gamepad so it doesn't freeze), so reloading to a regular IOS doesn't seem like a clever choice.     There are three different revisions of the HAI I currently know of, but all of them are universal. They are different updates of the same thing. So yes, there are differences, but that's just different revisions of the same IOS. You dont have to believe me though, feel free to try.

    I don't think that's what these are. Remember, this isn't launched like any other title. It's launched using the CMPT library. MCP does a lot of extra checking for that.
