Extracting Text from US SNES Games

I thought there was some validity in doing things this way, but i guess not.

Extracting Text from US SNES Games

In the video he dumps a Megaman and Bass (NTSC-J), then patches it with a translation. He puts the newly patched rom onto the chip. I personally thought this is the more legal way to do things and your not destroying anything. Say for instance you had Earthbound ($150-$200 game) and you would...

Extracting Text from US SNES Games

The purpose of his method is to preserve the original. So technically your not destroying a cart by lifting a couple of legs from the chip. His chip could still be removed and the original legs be reattached if someone wanted to do so. I own Earthbound, Mega Man X3, and X2. I'd like to get rid...

Extracting Text from US SNES Games

Yeah, a lot more to it than I thought (for me anyway). The reason I ask the question is, because Voultar created a way to easily patch Japanese carts. It would be nice to get rid of some of my more expensive games on the SNES and buy the Japanese version and patch it myself.

Extracting Text from US SNES Games

Is there a way to extract the text from NTSC SNES rom and convert it into a .ips file then patch it to a NTSC-J Super Famicom rom? Edit: It's probably not as simple as I think it is. :/

    Hacking USB Loader GX

So I got my WD hdd in. It works great. I used Wii Backup Manager to transfer the ISO's. It converted them to that wbfs format. Then I used WBFStoFat formatter. Here is what I'm confused on... the installation and running of WADS on hdd. When USBGX loads up it loads from the SD card from what I...

    Hacking USB Loader GX

Sorry, one more question. I have a bunch of WADS. Once I format a HDD to FAT32 and am able to start backing up Wii games to it. It will also run WADS from the HDD? I'd like to be able to backup Wii games and have the WADS accessible/playable at the same time, without any uninstalling/installing...

    Hacking USB Loader GX

Wow, thanks Cyan. I had a strange feeling it was the flash drive. I bought the flash drive because of its small form factor. That's ok though, because I don't mind buying something else and returning it. Other drives seem to be cheaper anyway. I'll check out the recommended list of drives, but...

    Hacking USB Loader GX

I'm a completely new person to this. I'm sure you guys have heard it all before and are going to get irritated with me, but I can't seem to figure out why my USBLoaderGX will not initialize whenever I try to "install" a game. This was going to be my first goal - install a wii game to a USB...
