So... we're not counting Android as Linux, then? 'cause last I checked, Android phones were more or less the most popular consumer gaming platform on the planet. And Android is Linux-based. 🤔
Yes, you can. They require an authenticator application, but it is not required to run that on a phone. There are desktop authenticator implementations; they are generic and all compatible with each other.
This was fixed last night ^_^
Working on it! We'll support both savegame editing (savegame export/import capability required) and paint-by-numbers style (for manually copying, if you don't want to use any type of hacking at all).
Update: Thanks to two helpful individuals, I now have access to some decrypted saves, and I've already succesfully reversed most of the storage format.
The ability to inject/extract patterns to/from ACNH savegames through the tool is coming soon!
Will only support decrypted format at first...
Yeah! The repo will go public in ~5-10 days from now or so. We want to do some fixes and cleanup first. ^_^
It does cycle between random designs - but because of the absurd level of popularity, we had to add some pretty aggressive caching settings. This means it randomizes every ~5 minutes...
Hi. One of the devs from acpatterns.com here. Heads-up: I'm planning to add this functionality to the tool, with automatic palette correction and everything. Could anyone send me their decrypted main.dat files for me to take a look at? My jig is broken so I can't access my own until I manage to...
That is planned! No ETA yet though... We're waiting for others to figure out what needs to be done to turn the savegame into plaintext.
This was fixed a few hours ago! We also added transparency support at the same time. Make sure to use ctrl+shift+R to force-refresh the website if you don't...
Hey all!
You might remember me or my work from the ACWW and ACNL pattern tools.
With ACNH's release around the corner, I've teamed up with two other developers to significantly improve the ACNL pattern tool, and make the first steps towards ACNH compatibility as well.
This new version of the...
Nope, no need to file for anything. That's just lawyers wanting to make money off of you. There are no "real" legal advantages to registration. The only thing it helps with, is proving the date of the creation. (Which, if you never published anything, is practically impossible otherwise.)
For...
Common misconception: you don't "file" for a copyright. It's a right you automatically gain the moment you do something creative.
Though, in the USA specifically, dance moves do not have any rights associated with them. In most of the rest of the world they do. This means stealing dances (just...
Playing the game is, quite literally, creative input. What buttons you press when are very much a creative type of input.
Basically, this doesn't ban playthroughs, but it does ban simply posting the cutscenes without alterations. Which makes sense.
Wow. So much hate for Nintendo, when it was a judge that decided all this. Nintendo didn't *ask* for 12 million, they were *awarded* 12 million, by an impartial judge.
There is probably a good reason for that amount, since it is required that you show damages in court. Most likely, that number...
Well, if we're going to that degree of calling them "the same", then every CPU ever produced is effectively the same tech. And sure, it sorta is. But what I was going for was really the sentiment in the summary of my post: "Generally, in the past, equivalent/identical PC parts and console parts...
While I totally see where you're coming from with this (and agree with the sentiment!), it's not entirely true.
Yes, recent consoles (especially Sony and MS) have been using exactly PC parts, sometimes with minimal modifications.
But older consoles (and still Nintendo to a degree) have always...
