    N64 OP Codes? N64 Tracer?

These aren't necessarily writing opcodes. See this documentation on gameshark codes: https://en64.shoutwiki.com/wiki/Make_Nintendo_64_GameShark_Codes The first code writes 0x2400 to address 0x2f32e4 constantly. You'd need to check if this is overwriting code or just simply data. If it is...

    R4 like Switch FPGA Code

I concur. I'm loving the LFSR seeded with 0x1234 that selects what random index of data to spit out. And the top level bus widths aren't even correct.

Nintendo has taken down the Link's Awakening fan remake

Dolphin never got a DMCA. Valve pretty much asked Nintendo if they had any objections to Dolphin releasing on Steam, and they said they could potentially attempt a DMCA takedown on those grounds. Dolphin has not removed anything. Specifically, there is no legally tested precedent in this area...

Modding a Sensor Bar to be AC/DC Powered

The sensor bar does nothing by itself. It's just infrared LEDs so any USB one will work (although 3rd party ones, including my DolphinBar at least, tend to burn out). Per https://www.consolemods.org/wiki/Wii:Connector_Pinouts If I remember correctly the Wii PWMs 12V down to the appropriate...

ROM Hack Scott Pilgrim vs The World: The Game audio volume fix

Oh right I forgot about the Jan 10th attempt. Ubisoft store only has the patches in x64dbg .1337 format, while the Steam version has them in .1337 and xdelta3. Besides that the 2021 Ubi and Jan 5 Steam patches should be the same. The January 10th patch was another attempt at messing with the...

Getting Mario Kart Double Dash Lan mode to work with Devolution -$100 bounty

I'm assuming you've tried delaying booting the subsequent Devolution Wii's. e.g. boot the first one and wait until it's in MKDD, then start booting another Devolution. I forgot, did you try disabling wifi logging? The sample loader I believe forces wifi logging, but if you boot Devolution from...

i think ds4windows is gonna end

The whole thing is rather unfortunate. I admit I was surprised to see ViGEmBus show up when I installed the Oculus software for use with Revive, but at the same time: >Puts source code under a permissive license >People and companies exercise their rights under the permissive license >:O This...

Getting Mario Kart Double Dash Lan mode to work with Devolution -$100 bounty

Honestly, perhaps a regression in the last released version of Devo? I do have MKDD, but I don't have multiple Wii's to try older versions on me at the moment. (I must say, that last comment on the issue from 2020 is quite amusing). In the mean time, could you possibly send those raw ARP...

Hacking Oldies Can you re-flash N64 Action Replay Professional Cheat Cartridges on Windows 10

For what it's worth, a PCI parallel/serial combo card worked for me (I'd imagine a PCIe card would too). And I was able to use it successfully with a Gameshark via a Windows 98 VMware's VM on Windows 7 with an added parallel port device.

    Homebrew ROM Hack Defeating Devolution

If it's a new Wii, I'd just say ignore the ones you have and have this recreate them (making sure to fully exit and relaunch the game after creating the DVV for the first time to avoid instability). The DVV files are not really transferable between consoles, unless you have the same 1st party...

Atmosphere CFW updated to 1.5.4, adds support for loading mods for Tears of the Kingdom

Interesting. Rather big syscall to be missing out on for so long. I feel like performance shouldn't be that awful? Given games are evidently natively read from "slow" cartridges and microSDs just fine?

Atmosphere CFW updated to 1.5.4, adds support for loading mods for Tears of the Kingdom

Seems like it's reaching a point where it would make more sense for Atmosphere to build and store a romfs as a file on the microSD when launching a game, and memory map that as needed? I'm assuming there's some limitation or complexity that prevents this at this time.

    Homebrew ROM Hack Defeating Devolution

The boot.dol is simply a wrapper for the loader.bin. Perhaps WiiFlow isn't initializing something like a path correctly, or perhaps it doesn't like this newer, significantly larger loader.bin. If nothing else it's very likely missing newer settings, which shouldn't be an issue, but I've only...

Random niche information that I couldn't find elsewhere: replacement original Switch JoyCon Rail screws do indeed fit the lower two screw holes on each of the Switch OLED JoyCon rails, if you happen to need replacements for those exact screws.

Homebrew Collection of old devkitPro versions

Honestly last thing I have to say. Fixing the code is a nice thing to strive for, but ultimately I don't see fixing and maintaining every single project as a realistic achievable goal. For projects whose core development is ultimately finished, especially those of a specific complexity, for...

Homebrew Collection of old devkitPro versions

I'm still of the belief that outright nuking older versions of the tools is never acceptable. Yes, managing support can be terrible. Yes, you can hide the older versions and make it very clear that no support is provided, or demand they retry in a clean modern devkitPRO environment set up in a...

Homebrew Collection of old devkitPro versions

Given nobody's stepped forward to fix Nintendont's issues that have plagued it on the latest versions on dkP, I can only assume it's very non-trivial to debug and fix, to a point where effort is better spent remaining on the same version of the tools rather than upgrading and attempting to...

Homebrew Collection of old devkitPro versions

And I am asserting they violated the GPL by refusing to provide complete buildable source for versions that were distributed within a certain period. They can assert all they want, doesn't mean they're right. Doesn't mean I'm right either. Point being, take their claims with a grain of salt, and...
