DS #2385: Daigasso! Band Brothers DX (Japan)

I bought the game recently (I owned the first one and loved it) - - I'm SUPER excited to see such a good following for the game here on GBAtemp. I felt pretty lost trying to work through all of the nonsense with save files and editing, but everyone here seems to have made it really simple and...

Gaming Does China and Taiwan have a such thing as a "DS"?

I have an iQue DS. It's the same as any other DS quality-wise, packaging, etc. There are only a few Chinese-language games for the DS, they're all ports of common games overseas, like Yoshi DS, Mario, etc. It does have a larger chip to support the Chinese character system, and plays any other...

    Gaming learning chinese

There's an excellent piece of software called Wen Lin. It's a bit pricy, though. Totally worth it, however. If you have a Palm OS PDA you can also try out Plecodict, an amazing piece of work and very useful for studying Chinese. No homebrew that I know of. It's an excellent decision. I'm a...

    Hacking Wiikey Update 1.9s

When can we expect the US config disc to be uploaded to the Wiikey site? This is ridiculous, I'm waiting here and so far no news at all...

    GBAtemp.net acquired by CNET Networks

It certainly better be an April Fool's day joke. I don't believe for a moment that GBAtemp would be sold to these assholes...screw CNET and screw GameSpot. Rubbish sites, if you ask me.

    WiiKey update 1.9g released

When the update says testing - then SUCCESS. Is that the end of the update? I've never updated my chip before, so I want to make sure I'm not turning it off and skipping something when I shouldn't be. EDIT:: Nevermind. I can't believe I didn't know to hit the reset button again to flash. I'm an...

    WiiKey update 1.9g released

I've done the same thing, but the readme isn't very clear. Do I turn on the Wii and click on the gamecube icon in the Wii menu, or just leave the Wii at the menu screen? Not quite sure I understand their exact meaning. My flash updated to 100%, then I hit the reset button and it stopped the...

    WiiKey update 1.9g released

I buggered my update as well. Hit the reset button instead of the power button. Is there anything I can do? It still gives me the unauthorized device error, but all my other discs work.

any good n64 flashcarts still avail?

Apparently the Neo N64 flash cart is still in development stages. I don't think it would be incredibly difficult to develop one with the proper tools - but I imagine it would make a mint as a lot of people could break out their old N64 systems and enjoy a great library of games!

Wii #0248 - Shin Chuuka Taisen: Michael to Meimei no Bouken (Japan)

That's because the main background story of Dragon Ball borrowed heavily from Xi You Ji, or Journey to the West. Even their names are the same - Son Goku, the translation of the Chinese Sun Wu Kong. Looks like a cool game though, I'll have to pick it up if it's available in the area!

DS iQue #0004: Shenyou Maliou DS (China)

Guys, no need to argue. Fact is, American people have a good standard of living in the world because of the hard work of Americans, luck, and diplomacy. One thing I don't like is when people feel bad for poor people - you shouldn't. If the people wanted to change things, they would. If they...

DS iQue #0004: Shenyou Maliou DS (China)

You'd have to find a country with such a huge labor force that you'd be able to pay them pennies first. Then, if you were a big investor you'd want to find a place where you know you can MAKE money. Why does everyone come here to China? Because we have 1.3 billion people, for starters. Secondly...

Will a flashcart work on the GBA player? That would be truly incredible if it could.

DS iQue #0004: Shenyou Maliou DS (China)

theclaw is right. the translation projects here go amazingly fast, in fact we have full translations for all the gyakuten saiban games for some years now, during the gba time. from what I understand, hackers here were still trying to grasp the font system by the time we had already had the game...

DS iQue #0004: Shenyou Maliou DS (China)

Contrary to popular belief, Chinese have no issues with pronouncing their "R." That award goes to the Japanese, where every "R" sounds like an "L." Come to Beijing or Northern China, nearly every word ends in "R" in the local dialect. I own an iQue DS Lite, as I live in China and it's the best...

    METAL

Danzig is classic, regardless of what kind of person Glenn Danzig is, it's just awesome music. Blind Guardian is one of my favorites, incredible in every way. If you like either Blind Guardian or Iced Earth, check out Demons & Wizards. This band is incredible, especially the latest album...

    PS1/2 PS3 Running Backups (Almost!)

Taiwanese pressing factories are beginning to press Blu-Ray recordable discs at the end of this fiscal year, and once the Asians begin pressing them the price will drop considerably. When Blu-Ray burners came out at the end of last year they were around 800-1000USD, now one can be bought for...

    Should I get a 360 or PS3?

Just get what you want. If you're asking other people for advice, I'd just wait it out until YOU decide which console is the best for YOU. Me, I own all three of the current lineup. I play all of them for different kinds of things - Wii for more fun, accessible games that I can pick up and play...

Hacking Wii from Hong Kong... a few questions

You're in luck as in a lot of cases HK uses the same voltage as you guys in the UK. Meaning the plugs will be the same shape, 220-240V etc. The region is NTSC-J. That means your PAL games aren't going to work unfortunately. Backups will work in some cases, depending on whatever chip you're...

Wii #0147 - Furu Furu Park (Japan)

I'll be testing an HK silver version on my NTSC-U Wii w/Wiikey tomorrow. It sounds like some people could be having a media problem. I'll post the results here. Looks like a fun game, though!
