Either that, or just use a good archiving tool.

ROM Hack [Release] Every File Explorer

Thanks, but it's not what I meant. I meant this: Tao is just a library that guarantees that nothing works at all, if you're not using Windows.

ROM Hack [Release] Every File Explorer

One question @lwyx2017 -sama: Are you willing to replace TaoGL with OpenTK? That would make it workable on Linux through Mono at least, since @Gericom 's version hates anything that's not Windows...

Homebrew Apparently Nintendo is removing Games off of ROM websites

I personally hate piracy a lot, but I also think this development is rather concerning. I mean, over at our community, we host full ROM hacks as .nds files also, so I really hope Nintendo doesn't mind customised ROMs (even though their policies prohibit it even harder). Moreover, all key...

Hardware Want to get a New 2DS LL at launch? Maybe you should reconsider...

(And I so hoped I could keep my 666 post count forever. wwwwww) I will need Homebrew access first, any suggoes? I spoke to Normmatt before, to dump the SM3DL prototype, I'm not sure if he has Discord? I stopped using Skype full-time, since Microsoft took it over. But my New 2DS LL didn't brick...

What Linux distro do you use?

Yes @blujay, you can. For Surface tablets (excluding Surface RT and Surface 2), it's the same process as on a laptop, except you'll need to turn off Secure Boot first, and boot up from USB by holding the volume down and power buttons on boot, until the Surface logo appears. As for phones...

What Linux distro do you use?

Servers: Either Debian or CentOS, depending on the type of server I'm using (and on how lazy I am, because most bundle VPS images are based off CentOS). Desktop: Manjaro Linux, on all computers I own, my main PC (MacBook Pro), desktop (iMac), and other desktop (Mac Mini) run MATE, my tablet...

Hardware Want to get a New 2DS LL at launch? Maybe you should reconsider...

@n0tAplikable You do realise that SDK versions aren't exactly corresponding to retail firmware versions, right?

Hardware Want to get a New 2DS LL at launch? Maybe you should reconsider...

As already mentioned, it won't work, because you can't downgrade the New 2DS LL firmware to 0.23.5 (all the other models work fine with that one). It's what Pablo already suggested, by letting me contact the right person for this, so now I'm waiting for that.

Here's 2 more, based on @Razor83's suggo. Photo 1 is at brightness level 5, and photo 2 is at brightness level 1.

Hardware Want to get a New 2DS LL at launch? Maybe you should reconsider...

There's the SaveDataFiler app, which is being distributed by Nintendo. However, save files must be made on a Dev Unit, I remember installing a save file of Mario Kart 7, somebody made for me on a retail 3DS, and it didn't allow me to install it. Here are some photos of multiple angles, I hope...

Hardware Want to get a New 2DS LL at launch? Maybe you should reconsider...

Could you explain me the differences, and how I can tell them apart? I've seen this question a few times before also, but I don't know how to answer here, as I've never heard of "TN"... Just one thing to note down here: Any game-specific exploit requires me to own the game as a Dev...

Hardware Want to get a New 2DS LL at launch? Maybe you should reconsider...

I agree, the fact it's so much lighter compared to the New 3DS LL really invites me to play longer sessions on it (if at all possible, because not only I need to convert games to a CIA format that runs on Dev Units, but I also need to find the time for it). And I really love the design, it's not...

Yes, Nintendo 3DS Sound is there, sandwiched between Nintendo 3DS Camera, and Mii Studio.

Hardware Want to get a New 2DS LL at launch? Maybe you should reconsider...

I think not, seeing the userbase here at GBATemp. The title would have been different, if I were to post this on a forum for more 'regular' gamers (although the entire thread would also have been different). I'm very sorry about that, I only saw this post, after re-reading the whole thread...

Hardware Want to get a New 2DS LL at launch? Maybe you should reconsider...

Well, the regular 2DS still shares the same CTR (non-SNAKE) firmware as the 3DS and 3DS LL, so I don't think that's the case.

Hardware Want to get a New 2DS LL at launch? Maybe you should reconsider...

Unfortunetely, no. I'm a well known MKDS and MK7 ROM Hacker (even though the amount of hacks I've ever created is really low, and I always relied on other people), which is much easier than hacking an actual system.

Hardware Want to get a New 2DS LL at launch? Maybe you should reconsider...

I quickly reviewed the "Get Started" page now, and there's already 1 problem here. The guide wants me to install the 0.25.5 firmware, while I already mentioned in the TS it didn't work. Each time I try to run that SystemUpdater (or an older one, if you want me to add that), I get a fatal error...

Hardware Want to get a New 2DS LL at launch? Maybe you should reconsider...

I could give it a try later today (I'm at work right now). Although it'll be the first time I'd actually follow this guide on any 3DS (retail or debug) I own at all, so perhaps I'll do something wrong.

As I already said, there's no way to verify that, because developer units always show "Ver. 0.0.0-0", no matter the firmware version installed. Only to developers basically. I'm not one of them, but I've got a couple of contacts who are.
