    Homebrew DOP-Mii 12.1 Beta

The IOS in the config only loads after the startup IOS is loaded. I can't read the config file until I get a good IOS to load first and the newer IOSes support SDHC so this is why I check for the latest first. However I didn't think about stubs at the time so I'll have to implement a stub check.

    Homebrew DOP-Mii 12.1 Beta

Thanks Arikado and GiantPune. I'll implement something to check for stubs at that point. Probably won't be till this weekend.

Hacking [MMM] Multi-Mod Manager (a collection of tools)

Thanks for your clarification. I do agree with you as far as this silly war goes, however I do understand where Arikado is coming from. It can be frustating where we haven't offically released our application to the public, and others are already copying it and releasing it before we offically...

Hacking [MMM] Multi-Mod Manager (a collection of tools)

Also I just want to add 1 more thing. I did not keep my code closed source. The reason I did not commit my code to svn was because I wanted my code to be tested very throughly before releasing it to the public. Because the Wii is very "picky" on what you can and cannot do, I wanted to be sure...

Hacking [MMM] Multi-Mod Manager (a collection of tools)

I'm only getting involved in this argument for 1 reason only. The GPL license issue. Please read this below and i'm stressing it in bold so everyone knows the truth. Reference here http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-faq.html#G...rcePostedPublic

Hacking [MMM] Multi-Mod Manager (a collection of tools)

I have already talked with Arikado about this, but I just what to claify this line item so that everyone can understand. I DO NOT HOST FILES, doing so is illegal. I provided an option so that people can host their own files on their own private web server. The purpose of allowing an alternate...

Hacking DOP-Mii v12, formely known as DOP-IOS MOD, now live

Not an easy question to answer. All I can say is don't do the official Nintendo upgrade and for the most part you should be fine. Different apps rely on different IOSes and depend on the requirement of the app/channel will depend on if it will be affected or not. The only easy one I can answer...

Hacking DOP-Mii v12, formely known as DOP-IOS MOD, now live

v12 will check the IOS version and if it doesn't have the required version it will ask if you would like to install it right then and there.

Hacking DOP-Mii v12, formely known as DOP-IOS MOD, now live

You are fine on adding the file to the config folder. For the developer community it was kind of agreed that the config folder is a common folder for various projects. There are multiple projects that use the config folder so you are fine on just dropping the file there. The purpose of having a...

Hacking DOP-Mii v12, formely known as DOP-IOS MOD, now live

As long as you are using System Menu 4.1, then it shouldn't complain about IOS70. But it's typically not a good idea to use an older IOS with a newer system menu. This is why I implemented the check. However if you do decide to upgrade to System Menu 4.2 I think I have the installer setup so you...

Channels only need to be upgraded if you see Upgrade via the System Menu. Otherwise your channels can be left alone.

Hacking DOP-Mii v12, formely known as DOP-IOS MOD, now live

May not be a bad idea to add a flag to the config file, so if users know they cannot downgrade to < 3.2 then it won't even be an option. I'll think about it for the next release.

It should let you install if the slot is truly empty. I set it up so that it looks for empty slots. If you don't see it during the slot selection then that means the slot is occupied. However I will take a look and see if I can reproduce it.

Hacking DOP-Mii v12, formely known as DOP-IOS MOD, now live

Actually it's not a boot2v4 issue. It is if you have a Wii manufacturered after July 2008. I have one of the Wii's manufacturered when it first came out and I can successfully downgrade all the way to 2.0 with no problem. Rule of thumb is if you can't install BootMii as boot2 you should not...

Hacking DOP-Mii v12, formely known as DOP-IOS MOD, now live

Hey guys if you just downloaded. Please redownload. I don't know why my final compile started causing a code dump during install. But I recompiled it and now it doesn't do it.

Hacking DOP-Mii v12, formely known as DOP-IOS MOD, now live

Multiple reasons. 1. As pepxl says. It does more than just IOSes now 2. We did a complete rewrite of the app so it really can't be considered a mod 3. We will be adding even more features to the app. 4. It is MUCH easier to say DOP-Mii than DOP-IOS MOD.

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
