    Hacking Legend of Heroes Translation

Well said. That's also the rule I play by. People have offered me monetary support, for which I'm grateful but I've politely turned down those offers or suggested to donate the money to something else. What I do in my spare time, I do for fun.

ROM Hack [Translation] Labyrinth no Kanata (Beyond the Labyrinth)

Looks great so far. Good luck with this project, Nagato! I'll be following.

Gorgeous, man. Can't wait to see the translation of the script to start rolling!

    Hacking Legend of Heroes Translation

With trilogy you mean, Sora no Kiseki? From what I've heard, Zero starts off isolated in its Prologue and early first Chapter, until it drops a major plot twist from Sora no Kiseki (SC) and becomes immediately intertwined with the rest of the series. And since all instalments (Sora, Zero/Ao...

    Hacking Legend of Heroes Translation

Now the text has been dumped, it looks like no one really knows how to proceed in order to tackle this behemoth. The next logical step would be translating, indeed, but since the Kiseki games are extremely context sensitive, as noted by Shinintendo, I think it's best to add two additional steps...

    Hacking Legend of Heroes Translation

Unlike Square Enix, who waited almost one year and a half until the fan translation was finished, Wyrdwad dropped the hint of XSEED's localisation two days after I posted a heads up on ALoY -- can't really blame XSEED for that. I'm looking forward to the uploaded sheets - and the answer to...

    Hacking Legend of Heroes Translation

If Sora FC had 1.5 million characters spread over 55.000 lines, I'd say Zero's estimated 4 million characters would mount to 140.000-150.000 strings. If you were to print the entire script, you would have a murder weapon. I would stick to XSEED's terminology and style as much as possible, or...

Small addition: in Sora no Kiseki FC, there's also "#1K", which indicate multiple dialog boxes in the same screen.

Hacking Brandish: The Dark Revenant translation

Looks like XSEED is going to publish this game themselves after all. Might be better to put this project on hold until further notice.

Cool man, good to hear! And yes, I agree with the process patch proposal; it's included in the 'Overall progress' sheet.

Hacking Brandish: The Dark Revenant translation

We possibly can't have the game argue with its FMVs, now can we? Just changed her names in the spreadsheet. So far, the only things I've recycled from the SNES version are the stone tablets/plaques with hints/lore on the walls. In one case I had to slightly adjust a line to make it fit...

Hacking Brandish: The Dark Revenant translation

Although it's still Dora in the spreadsheet, we did make the decision last night to stick with Dela to keep it consistent with your translation and Falcom's transliteration. I'll change it in the sheet as soon as I start working on it again.

Hacking Brandish: The Dark Revenant translation

Thanks, that should help! Small update: with flame1234's translation of the tutorial and mine of the first five floors, we got a good 19% of the script covered (line-wise), repetitions included.

Hacking Brandish: The Dark Revenant translation

Neat, omarrrio! Speaking of which, we're currently working on the /script/ files, but there's also /txt/item.tb for all the items. How do we translate those? I went ahead and imported all lines with text into the spreadsheet, with the source lines on the left and the translations on the...

Hacking Brandish: The Dark Revenant translation

Without giving it too much thought, I started working in Spreadsheets here and flame1234 joined in as well. I basically expanded my spreadsheet for drafts (primarily for comparing the length of sentences between source/target), so it's kind of messy. I'm also discussing stuff like Ares'...

Hacking Brandish: The Dark Revenant translation

Good, good. I'm almost done with the first floor. There's a lot of repetition among the floors, like the notification that a wall is crumbling or that you opened a chest with a key. We should keep those consistent, of course. The pointer for the 'wall plaques'/'stone tablets' on the walls is...

Hacking Brandish: The Dark Revenant translation

Great, thanks a lot man! It works like a charm. Final question (I think): is there a way for me to use commas? Right now, they're being used to start a new line.

Hacking Brandish: The Dark Revenant translation

That explanation was certainly helpful and taught me a lot about the files, yet iso still keeps crashing on me. Allow me to retrace my steps: 1. Exported mp1_01 using your Python script, translated a line (replaced "どれほどの時間が経っただろうか。" with "I wonder how much time had passed.") and imported it...

Hacking Brandish: The Dark Revenant translation

Fantastic! Admittedly, due to my lack of experience with scripts, it took me some trial and error to get the python script running and to convert the .scp to .data, but I eventually succeeded. Looks great man, excellent work. How should we going to proceed from here? Are you still working on...

Hacking Brandish: The Dark Revenant translation

Superb work, Kelebek. I don't understand the technical tidbits, but the screenshots look very promising. Looks like there's space for 40 characters on a single line up to three lines per text box (two with Yes/No question). Great to see how virtually all Falcom games make use of the same font.
