Release: Custom Firmware for the Super-Retrocade

Thought I'd let everyone know this because I just discovered it and no one else has said anything about it: Because the CFW's "Master System" emulator is PicoDrive, it can play not only SMS ROMs, but also Genesis ROMs in addition to 32X ROMs (without requiring the BIOS files) with .sms extensions!

    Open-Source BIOS files for PS1 and SEGA-CD?

@tech3475 Yes I did. It's very easy and very cheap too. @Lilith Valentine Fine, I won't worry about it anymore. But I'm still buying and dumping any SEGA-CD games I wanna emulate...

    Open-Source BIOS files for PS1 and SEGA-CD?

All right, here's what I'm gonna do: There's several games for the SEGA-CD (Batman Returns, Sonic CD, Earthworm Jim SE, Final Fight CD), that I'd very much like to emulate legally. So I'm gonna go ahead and hunt down a SEGA-CD to dump my BIOS from. Until I have the time and the money to do that...

    Open-Source BIOS files for PS1 and SEGA-CD?

I changed my mind and I'm not gonna illegally download the BIOS. I'll just either not bother with SEGA-CD emulation or wait until someone actually does make an open-source BIOS for the system.

    Open-Source BIOS files for PS1 and SEGA-CD?

All right, since I'm obtaining my SEGA-CD BIOS from a documentation wiki instead of a ROM site, and since I intend to buy and dump all the SEGA-CD games I wanna emulate, I'm just gonna go ahead and do it. Like you said, this will be for my personal use only.

    Open-Source BIOS files for PS1 and SEGA-CD?

Blame the whole "has to be your own backup" thing on the PCSX2 team. They're the ones who are parading downloading BIOS files as 100% illegal and persecuting people who do it. If you can convince me that it's completely OK to download a SEGA-CD BIOS from segaretro.org, where, except where...

    Open-Source BIOS files for PS1 and SEGA-CD?

Cool! Then let's start motivating people to make them!

    Open-Source BIOS files for PS1 and SEGA-CD?

Is it possible to make open-source BIOS files for these systems, especially since it was done for the GBA? There are a few SEGA-CD games I'd love to get my hands on, but I REALLY don't wanna have to go out of my way to buy a SEGA-CD console just to dump its BIOS, and being the legit gamer I...

Emulation Getting Link Cable Emulation (LAN and Local Mode) working correctly in VBA-M 2.1.4 (Windows 10)

Sorry this post was so late, I kept forgetting about it until now. :P I found another GBA emulator with Link Cable functionality called VBALink. It's an older emulator, but after having used it for months, I have to say it puts VBA-M to utter shame. VBALink has both Local and LAN Mode for Link...

Gaming Making a certain XBLA game "DRM-free"

I found Yaris on a legit site and just downloaded it. Now how do I replace Hyper Fighting's header with Yaris's?

Gaming Making a certain XBLA game "DRM-free"

I own Street Fighter II' Hyper Fighting for XBLA, and I wanna be able to make it pretty much DRM-free, so I can play it on accounts other than my own. I'm able to copy the entire game to a flash drive and transfer it between systems, so that's a good start. I heard there's no way to mod 360s...

CPU VS. CPU in Street Fighter II Turbo (SNES) using Cheats not working

Remember the Tournament Mode in the SNES/Genesis version of Super Street Fighter II that allowed (limited) CPU VS. CPU matches? I do. I love it, and I've always wanted that feature in Champion Edition/Hyper Fighting... Today, I just stumbled across a video that shows off CPU VS. CPU in the SNES...

Release: Custom Firmware for the Super-Retrocade

I have a new question: I wanna polish my setup on your CFW. I wanna get rid of all the crap I created for games I don't have on the system anymore (example: save files and custom controls), plus I wanna copy memory card saves that have everything unlocked for several of my PS1 games into the...

Emulation Getting Link Cable Emulation (LAN and Local Mode) working correctly in VBA-M 2.1.4 (Windows 10)

Thank You for the help. Network: Library computers are nowhere near as locked down as school computers, believe me. I've gotten Super Street Fighter IV Taito Type X2 to run LAN multiplayer on library computers in the past, so that shouldn't be an issue... Local Mode: I already tried what you...

Emulation Getting Link Cable Emulation (LAN and Local Mode) working correctly in VBA-M 2.1.4 (Windows 10)

I'm using VBA-M 2.1.4 on Windows 10 (as well as MacOS library computers) to emulate Super Street Fighter II Turbo Revival and Street Fighter Alpha 3 with the purpose of putting them on a thumb drive and playing them on any computer I have access to (mainly library computers). I do have two...

Release: Custom Firmware for the Super-Retrocade

I've been using your CFW on my Super Retrocade and I REALLY like it! But can I request that you add the ability to modify core settings for each of the systems just like Retroarch, since the whole thing pretty much runs in Retroarch anyway? I'd REALLY like to be able to use the RGB NES palette...

Dumping Batman Return Of The Joker using Kazzo NES Dumper

I'd like to dump Batman Return Of The Joker (NES) so I can legally add it to my portable Batman archive. I've got Kazzo NES Dumper, but it doesn't look like the program it uses to dump cartridges to ROMs (anago) doesn't support the mapper the game uses ( Sunsoft 5 (69)). Any suggestions on what...

Very cheap NES and SNES flash carts for Very specific needs

Let me add another detail: I want the flash carts to act like repro carts, in that the ROMs HAVE to be burned onto the carts (No SD card required). Plus that Everdrive is ridiculously expensive, especially when I can buy repro carts of the SNES TMNT games for $15-20 each. I'd actually do that...

Very cheap NES and SNES flash carts for Very specific needs

OK, so here's what I want: Two NES flash carts for three games (TMNT I, II Arcade, and III Manhattan) -and- Two SNES flash carts for two games (TMNT Turtles In Time, and Tournament Fighters) Why two? Because I have two of each system and I want a cart for each copy of each system. I want to be...
