Tell a story, Post a pic of your Nintendo Switch!

Sure, got six here, The first was an Erista purchased very close to launch for standard retail price ($300 USD). It shipped on v1.0.0 and is the console I use for normal stuff. It's gotten a little nasty over the years, but it still works great and has a superior screen compared to almost all...

(Q): Switch Model Upgrade wroth it? Switch Lite -> OLED

I'm almost always on the go or away from a change when I'm using handheld :p Using it at full brightness in a dark room can be quite blinding

(Q): Switch Model Upgrade wroth it? Switch Lite -> OLED

I use it on my Erista to conserve battery, same would apply to my OLED if I ever use it/get it modded (currently it just sits in its box).

Tutorial Gaming Hardware Hacking Homebrew 4IFIR MOD: The simplest way to overclock | CPU 2397 MHz GPU 1536 MHz RAM 2131 MHz

Meh, if you're interested I've had an idea for somewhat of a "middle ground" for awhile. An idea that would remove the requirement for for a full build setup and shit, while still requiring that the user knows what the stuff they're messing with means and would allow fully customizing everything.

Maybe, maybe not, I can't see their DMs. If they're not, then my previous message about how they should be giving warnings still applies.

I read that previous post too quickly and misread it, if you're explicitly and very clearly recommending these users to make an emummc for ram stuff, that also works. My apologies if you are.

*on Erista.* I haven't had anyone encounter corruption on mariko from what I remember either. But I have had multiple people encounter complete nand corruption on Erista so bad to the point the console wouldn't boot without restoring a backup or manually fixing everything. Just because you...

2131 on Erista has a decent-ish chance of immediately softbricking your console upon playing any game with no warning. Which probably means OP isn't warning these users to make a nand dump beforehand.

    Install Atmosphère on switch devkit.

Atmosphere Just Works(tm), but some of the dev functionality will be broken and as I believe I've told you before retail software won't work due to different keys. Also I presume you're still unable to send dump? :p

Nintendo Switch firmware update 13.2.1 released, Atmosphere updated to 1.2.6

The debug tools that are reimplementations of Nintendo’s new-ish debugging tools in HOS added in a recent-ish update? :shrek:

I think there might be a slight misunderstanding. All the different binning ranges are different SKUs (as per the value in FUSE_SKU_INFO), but they're all called Erista, Tegra210/T210, Tegra X1, or whatever, there's not much of a naming differentiation between them. They would produce a bunch of...

The spec sheet is "meh" and not a great representation of what it's capable of, some SoCs may be completely incapable of running at those speeds. The A53 cores it mentions are also broken/disabled on all known hardware including dev boards (jetsons, SDEV, etc).

Tutorial Gaming Hardware Hacking Homebrew 4IFIR MOD: The simplest way to overclock | CPU 2397 MHz GPU 1536 MHz RAM 2131 MHz

It's not quite that simple. They have like 10 unique device binnings or smth stupid that vary from 1.4GHz all the way up to 2.2GHz on the CPU. Nvidia inspects them wherever and send them out to whoever depending on what range they fall into. Foster (2015 Shield TV) was binned for 2.2GHz CPU/1GHz...

By "goes to shit" I mean you won't get anything out of it, though iirc it does hang at some point. It'll say it's running at x freq, will consume the appropriate amount of power, but won't perform any better or anything. Last time I benchmarked the CPU in Linux, 2193 and 2295 performed almost...

Hacking Atmosphere-NX - Custom Firmware in development by SciresM

I'd guess whoever that is probably just saw he hasn't pushed any ams commits in like two months and assumed he's leaving, and contrary to popular belief ams dev isn't the only thing scires does with his life.

Tutorial Gaming Hardware Hacking Homebrew 4IFIR MOD: The simplest way to overclock | CPU 2397 MHz GPU 1536 MHz RAM 2131 MHz

On Erista, not very, everything goes to shit after 2GHz or so on the CPU and probably on GPU after a similar overclock (didn't play around with it nearly as much because I'm not a complete dumbass). With "goes to shit" meaning you just get exponentially higher power draw with little to no impact...

High clocks like this would damage Erista hw (and potentially mariko hw, a lot is still untested/unknown there), you wouldn't want to use them.

If you were to boot without an sd card and it survives, then you do boot with an sd card, it wouldn't linger yeah

Tutorial [PSA][Tutorial] HWFLY chips will brick your OLED. Here is how to avoid it

Also btw I took a look at the sdloader payload that does the misconfiguration, it seems to only run the code to route 5v wherever if it fails to load a payload off the sd card, so it's not as big of an issue as it initially seemed (still should probably avoid using it though). (edit...

Tutorial [PSA][Tutorial] HWFLY chips will brick your OLED. Here is how to avoid it

The modchip writes it's own payload and bct to the eMMC then glitches the pubkey hash check then the bootrom runs that payload as if it were Ns bootloader, then with spacecraft it either chainloads another payload or displays it's rocket thingy. That payload it writes to the eMMC is what does...
