Logitech's minimalist professional keyboard returns, this time, in a fun-sized form factor.

The Logitech MX Mechanical is a sleek keyboard that combines professional style with a minimalist form factor, designed for maximum productivity. As a flagship offering from Logitech's MX series, this keyboard aims to deliver a premium typing experience for professionals and enthusiasts alike. We're going to find out if Logitech has kept up its streak of solid peripherals, especially with such heavy competition in the low-profile keyboard world.

Logitech's MX Mechanical Mini is an 87-key keyboard, featuring a low-profile frame with a brushed aluminum top plate, though the rest of it is plastic. The compact form factor is an added advantage, making it suitable for both office setups and on-the-go productivity. With how weightless it feels, this would make a good portable keyboard for typing while out and about.

Equipped with Logitech's proprietary mechanical key switches, the MX Mechanical Keyboard offers a decent typing experience. The keys have a comfortable travel distance and actuation force, striking a balance between tactile feedback and low noise levels; it's definitely on the quieter side of even rubber dome keyboards. The switches here are improved from the similar, albeit gaming-themed, Logitech G915's switches, though they're still not perfect. There's a bit of a scratchy feel whenever you press down on the keys, which is a little unsatisfying, but the tactility is great.

The keyboard also offers extensive syncing options, thanks to Logitech's easy-to-use software. Logitech Options is one of the better software out there, however, in the case of the MX Mech, it lacks finer customization options, leaving it barren of any macro or remapping support. The Logitech MX Mechanical Keyboard supports both wired and wireless connectivity options, providing flexibility based on your preferences. Per usual, Logitech absolutely nails the wireless capabilities, thanks to the Bolt receiver. You'll also get about 15 days of battery life out of the keyboard, or a massive 10 months, if you forgo backlighting. The backlighting is also so hardly noticeable, that you might as well keep it off permanently.

The Logitech MX Mechanical Keyboard is a well-rounded keyboard, delivering performance, versatility, and aesthetics. This board definitely caters to the needs of those who seek a keyboard that can sync to many devices and seamlessly switch between then, or want something portable yet still tactile. Although it comes at a higher price point compared to entry-level keyboards, many will find that it quite easily justifies its cost thanks to its quality of life features if you're already immersed in the Logitech ecosystem. For those looking for something more well-built and premium, you might want to keep on looking.

If you do keep it as your daily driver, let us know how it fares regarding "chattering" in a year or so.
I loved my G613, but chattering killed it, and I've read all over the internet that Logitech KBs are all doomed to have it.

@Chary
As for your review, we have this:
You can remap keys, create macros, and assign application-specific functions, thereby streamlining your workflow.

And then on the cons we have:
No macros or remapping

What gives?

Oh gosh. I think I had a too many keyboards moment. Thank you for pointing that out. I'm writing a review for a nearly identical low profile keyboard that has all the macros. It's like the same as this keyboard, except better in every way. I had both reviews on my phone's notes app so I just accidentally got the two mixed up. I'll make sure to edit that part out ASAP. Sorry for the mixup.

As for chattering, I really liked the G915 I reviewed two years ago, but I had to sell it because, of course, the chattering reaper came for it. I hope it won't be the case for this one, since the build seems a lot different from the 915,but I wouldn't trust Logi at this point.
