Anda Seat Kaiser II (Hardware)
Official GBAtemp Review
Product Information:
It’s a big boi.
Are you tired of dinky little office chairs that break if you accidentally look at them the wrong way? Do you wish you could have something HUEG to sit in, but doesn’t have garish color schemes that screams “GAMER GAMER GAMER” at you every five minutes? Then take a look at the Anda Seat Kaiser II, Anda Seat’s latest office chair that’s designed for XL lifestyles. Featuring PVC Leather, high density foam padding, 4D armrests, a memory foam headrest and lumbar pillow, an aluminum base, and a “Titansteel” frame, the Kaiser II aims to not only be a strong chair but a comfortable one as well. But does it live up to this promise? Let’s find out.

The first thing you need to know about this chair is that this thing is pretty dang heavy. Weighing in at approximately 75lb (~34kg), there’s no denying this thing was truly built to last with its internal steel frame. Assembly-wise, much like my previous chair Anda Seat chair this thing was a breeze, with only 18 screws total that has to be screwed in: six to attach the seat base to the backrest, eight total for the armrests, and then four screws to attach the tilt mechanism to the seat. After that, it’s simply a matter of attaching the piston and shoving the wheels into the wheelbase. All in all, it took me a good 15-20 minutes to finish putting this thing together, which is pretty good for a chair this size.
So what about comfort? After a few weeks of use now, I’d give it about a B+. As the upholstery is PVC leather, the Kaiser II isn't very breathable, so if you tend to run hot you may want to go for fabric instead. But the foam used in the seat, lumbar pillow, and headrest are all very comfortable and suitable for long work or gaming sessions, which is good! Combined with the 90°-160° reclining backrest, the Kaiser II is perfect for laid back controller gaming! What’s not good, in my humble opinion, are the armrests: they use a thick PU covering that offers very little padding, has a weird angled inside edge that I personally find uncomfortable to rest my arms on for long periods, and the gap between the backrest and the armrests is 4 inches long, which results in my elbows sitting in this big gap when laid back controller gaming instead of sitting on the rests itself as they should. This probably isn’t a big deal for general office work, but if you tend to lay back a lot it’s something you should consider. As for the price...well, be prepared to pay an XL price for an XL chair, as the Kaiser II currently MSRPs for $499.99. That's definitely a pretty penny, and personally I don't think I could spend quite that much for an office chair unless I'm really going to spend all day in it.
But what about the most important question? The only question that truly matters? Is it, much like my previous Anda Seat chair, baby approved?
Yes, yes it is.
Verdict
- Very comfortable, except...
- Big boi, feels very sturdy.
- Easy to assemble.
- ...the armrests aren't super comfortable.
- Quite expensive
