All my Wii ISOs that I download come in the same size of 4.37GBs according to dolphin, 4,699,979,776 bytes to be exact. But when downloaded in a ZIPPED file, they are way smaller, why is this?

.ZIP files are always compressed and make all files/content associated within the ZIP smaller. When unzipped, it becomes decompressed and thus the files original size. That's why you download a lot of ROMS in ZIP files. It makes it easier to download them.

Because a scrubbed iso requires less space(scrubbing means removing unuseful data, without losing file quality)

So when the ISO is un-zipped, that's why it becomes larger?

*.ZIP files compress whatever you shove into them.

Kinda late, but the newer versions of dolphin have a feature where you can right click a game and compress it to a gcz format
