Hello! My problem is that my 8 gig USB flash drive won't show up in any usb loader program. I found a table where people have tested their drives and mine is on it and it works for homebrew (mine does) and it does work for usb loaders (mine doesn't).
My flash drive is formatted in FAT32 and so is my SD card. Both have a folder named wbfs in the root. My SD Card loads homebrew and contains one game (Metal Slug Anthology which works fine). My flash drive has one folder on it named wbfs and it contains Super Smash Brothers Brawl in it. Both have their games added to them through Wii Backup Manager. I have used the flash drive in prior attempts to fix the problem to load homebrew, which it does just as well as the sd card. The flash drive loads hbc fine, it runs apps too, it is never recognized to have any games on it when used in usb loaders though. If anybody knows what I should do, I'd be glad to try anything.

Solution
verify the path and filename.
if should be :
/wbfs/Super smash bros Brawl [RSBP01]/RSBP01.wbfs
/wbfs/Super smash bros Brawl [RSBP01]/RSBP01.wbf1

or RSBE01 if you have NTSC-US version.
or RSBJ01 if you have NTSC-J version

The d2x installer you need to use :
For wii
for vWii
they both contains all the possible version for the respective consoles. Not only v6.

be sure you connect the USB in port0.
Bottom port on Wii
upper back port on vWii

Be sure "Wii games" are selected in your USBLoader. They can filter the game type, and the device, etc.

Have you tried a different version of the cIOS? Thanks for revealing the brand of usb memory stick you are using because I have an 8GB stick that don't work with backup game too.

I'm trying to use d2x beta 53 because I used beta 52 before. It pops up in the installer as d2x v6 TWICE. It has the regular one that should be there and another one. I chose to use the second d2x v6 and then went on installing but it gives me a net_ini error at downloading metadata. This is really confusing me and I have no clue what to do :/

Thanks Cyan! It works great now! Turns out that I had my files named wrong with no actual name for the game, just a title id. I have a few questions though.
1. Why doesn't the game cover the ends of my screen? It leaves a black margin on the left and right sides but not top and bottom.
2. Can I edit my save file with dolphin so I don't have to play the game all over again?
3. I'm using vwii and I have a Smash Wii U gamecube adapter. Can I use this adapter to use a gamecube controller for Brawl?
4. Can I play Project M from the SD Card or do I have to do a merging ISO thing?
Thanks again Cyan, I really appreciate your help!

I don't know if the answer will follow your reply, so I'll quote it.

1. it's a WiiU issue, that's normal.
The Wii does NOT have widescreen support (it's a fake widescreen with distorted pictured).
WiiU has a real widescreen pixel count, and the Wii picture will never fit the screen fully as it miss pixel width.

2. You should be able.
use Wiixplorer (enable NAND access and be very careful what you edit), or use savegame Manager GX. (dump your existing savegame to generate the proper path on your SD, replace files with the one from dolphin, restore save to vWii)

3. No, you can't.
The gamecube adapter works only with :
- SSB wiiU
- Nintendont
- WiiU games on a kernel hacked compatible console. (3.0.1, 5.3.2 etc.)

4. You can play from SD Card if you are using Riivolution, or use a loader compatible with gameconfig.txt (most loaders should work)
You can merge the ISO for easier launch.
I think it's easier to use gameconfig.txt, as you can enable/disable the hack by just enable/disable the hooktype option in the loader.
