How or where to find device names in Win 7 for driver search?

I've just installed Win 7 on a 2013 laptop and Acer did not provide drivers for Win 7. Most drivers where found easily (Intel+Nvidia graphics, Realtek Audio and the cable LAN).

Still some devices with yellow ! and nonsense names ("PCI-device") remain. How to find proper descriptors like lspci does on Linux for searching the web?
Would be easy to search for something like that (from lspci on my main computer):

00:1f.3 SMBus: Intel Corporation C610/X99 series chipset SMBus Controller (rev 05)

Any help would be appreciated.

p.s. Please no strange third-party automatic driver installation tools.

I normally use something like this:
https://devicehunt.com/

Note: I only posted that link because it shows where to go to, what you’ll see is something like this:
PCI\VEN_1000&DEV_0001&SUBSYS_00000000&REV_02

So the vendor id is 1000 and the dev id is 0001.

Different sites exist for vendor/device ids e.g. Google “pci database” so you may need to look around or you can use just the vendor id to try and isolate it e.g. if the vendor was Nvidia it would probably be GPU related.

Good morning.

@alexander1970 you misunderstood this. The line
00:1f.3 SMBus: Intel Corporation C610/X99 series chipset SMBus Controller (rev 05)
is from my perfectly working Linux main computer as an example for what kind of information I want to have. This is why you immediately found a driver in this case: Providing a good search term.
The laptop is a Acer E1-772G.

Normally the laptop has Ubuntu which works great right out of the box including the Nvidia Optimus. Of course, I can run lspci on the Laptop using Linux and will get all devices… not knowing which one Windows is missing.

@tech3475
Yeah, things like this
PCI\VEN_1000&DEV_0001&SUBSYS_00000000&REV_02
can be found in device manager. I didn't know a special site for that exists. My Windows knowledge is more than a bit outdated and rusty. Will try later today.
Why doesn't it simply show the device name if no driver can be found? Windows is so complicated…

Edit: devicehunt.com worked! Thanks!

USB 3.0, chipset, SD reader and WiFi were the unknown devices. Easy finding drivers after knowing the names. Laptop now running Windows 7 on latest patchlevel with all needed drivers.
