  • Games leaking very early I think is a bit of an issue. Normally people who pirate will always be the ones to pirate, but when it's that early, I feel the hyped up fans would bite, and pirate as well. From there it's hard to say if they will make the extra effort of buying a copy afterwards like they would've done.

The reason I think most of them aren't from review copies... It's simply not a very big attack surface, there aren't that many review copies sent out as they typically only send them to big websites and a small amount of YouTubers. And if your contact is a reviewer they are not guaranteed to get every game.

Whereas there are hundreds of thousands or even millions of stores and any one of them could be compromised, and you would have a reliable way to get just about every single game ahead of release, although not as early as review copies. But games don't tend to get leaked more than around week early so that is in line with around the time store chains would be receiving them.

I used to be able to reliably get games 2 days ahead of release (1 day early if I was unlucky) from a specific online store in Norway but the postal service changed so mail now takes longer and I would be lucky if I received the package on release day these days. They are allowed to ship games out so they arrive by release day but they can't ship it out any earlier since they only get games 2-3 days ahead of release.

Back then, repairability used to be part and parcel of most electronics. Now that it's not, I see people complaining saying that when a company does do that, it sucks that they stand out as the good guy and shouldn't be a glorification. I think that's a good thing though. Now when more companies have repairability as a strong selling point, that factor becomes part of the competition more importantly than back then.

From that point on, repairability would be there to stay, to be competitive. In the past it was there everywhere as something that was taken for granted, but now with it gone, when products do have it it takes the spotlight and brings importance to it like never before. It is then something competitors cannot ignore and will have to implement.

Instead of a temp(orary) life, why don't you choose the real and lasting one?

That House of the Dragon teaser looked really good, I hope it's early GoT material or better.
Sora?! That's amazing haha, just went back to the KH subreddit and I'm so happy for everyone who wished for him from the get go. But damn, the series is on the Switch by the cloud, that's rough...
The sad moments in one's life are just as beautiful as the happy moments. Having all kinds of experiences is what makes it poetic, keep that in mind the next time you cry and be aware of it when it happens like a spectator, appreciate the beauty of it.

My Corsair VS650 PSU absolutely dwarfs that particular Gigabyte PSU, it is way worse. As I turn on the PC it makes very loud and constant sparking sounds just like gas stove ignitions. What's worse is when it's on, my other PC in the upper floor of the house, the circuit breakers, power outlets etc all make the same noise. Just replaced the PSU and everything is fine now...

I agree for everything except for most of their Power Supplies. :P
More and more companies are only now realizing they should embrace memes, it's better for business and PR.
I hope the way the combined forums thing turns out to be fine. I always noticed if you post in the Hardware section of a console for instance, almost no one replies or goes there. Now it's similar to Reddit, that issue is most likely solved now.

Also wow, either the status limit is gone or is now much higher. Pretty revolutionary and probably my favourite update lol.
Call me old fashioned but I'm probably gonna continue only using "Like" lol. Maybe use a reaction if it's a big one, time will tell if I'm right about myself though. :P

The moment I heard about Apple bringing high refresh rate displays to their new iPhone Pro models, I knew it would help make it standard.

How so? It's an improvement, I don't think it's meant to solve anything.

Improvement. In a technical sense. In a practical sense? I remain unconvinced outside of a handful of specific use cases, and several of those have other potential solutions that don't involve me doubling data rates for no real gain in number of apparent polygons.

Both? The overall experience is more pleasant and fluid. Browsing on my PC feels more smoother and nice, on my phone it makes using it more pleasant and quick. In games 120hz feels great. I'm not talking about use cases, I don't know if there are such other technical reasons you would want a high refresh rate. It's akin to better sound or picture quality, doesn't serve much purpose but a better experience to be had.

@RedColoredStars, I also listen to Beck, some of their songs are fine. Only found out about them through Windows Me; you know, that one operating system nobody ever likes?
  • RedColoredStars @ RedColoredStars:
i dont know why tv manufactures put the hdmi ports in dumb locations so the cables have to stick out, and then down, putting strain on the ports. Instead of having the ports along the bottom edge of the tv facing downwards.
