Visual novels are nice if you like reading like I do
of course, I prefer physical reading(never liked ebooks or audiobooks) so I don't play visual novels that often
Point and Click are for.....ahem......more ambitious,more sophisticated and more challenging Gamers.....
it's called being a medium that allows for good story ;o;
I've only played a few point and click games, but I did enjoy the few I pkayed
ace attorney, grim fandango, etc, there's a lot of good games in the genre. if you wanna get weird, you could even file some newer games as existing only because of point and click, ie. life is strange, the walking dead...
Ace Attorney's great (the 3DS line has all six main entries), though only Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice have "chapter select" as an option, allowing you to skip parts you don't like on repeat playthroughs. 999 and Virtue's Last Reward are also stellar games, if you don't mind death and gore.
Apparently, the "Zero Escape: The Nonary Games" bundle (containing 999 and VLR) is available on Windows, alongside the PS4 - this is the best way to play those two games.
Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors is such an underrated game
The third game, Zero Time Dilemma...eeeeeeehhh. Nah. Drops and changes elements from VLR, and is just too gory for me to handle. Just stick with the duology bundle.
I think ZTD is worth it for closure and it’s decent, but decent looks awful when compared to like, the S+ tier that 999 and VLR are.
Also fun fact, the PS4/PC HD bundle version has voice acting :O I didn’t know that until recently.
I think in text based games from the early 2000s, a lot of personality comes through the little individual beep tones each character’s text has. 999 did that on the DS at least. I remember that being an awesome detail back in the day.
then try OGA game jam games >:3
I love game jams
I used to spend hours just going through game jam submissions
the process is fun, the results debatably so
like gbatemp posts :3 well I'll be participating in a game jam in a few days :3
Never thought about Game Jam before, really; maybe I should check it out soon. Hopefully there'll be a few flavours rich enough to rival Blueberry; likely has been many tasty contenders in the past, that I've never cared about.
