COVID 19 is more like a Cold on steroids. Overall, yeah, they are beefing up Covid case numbers for political reasons. Also, most homemade masks don't work well, if at all.

How am I part of the problem when the problem is the media having blown the flu out of proportion for the sake of political gain?

I didn't know the media invented a virus for political reasons.

Also, making estimated guesses on when something lasts isn't evidence of wanting to have it last that amount of time.

The virus is real indeed. However, there IS REAL overblowing of COVID-19 cases in the US, you usually need to know where to look. You are a damn fool if you think that CNN, MSNBC and Vox truly care about you. CHINA DID underestimate their cases, and so did Iran.
