    Time flies. It seems like only yesterday Python was this be-all end-all God's gift to programming, and now it's "why is this thing still a thing". I am old.

    Python is nice because you don't need to compile.
    Change a line in your code and it's ready to use.

    It's like in the middle of command line batch and C, sort of.

    Especially useful for very quick scripts.

    I'm doing a degree in Computer Science and Python is the first thing they're teaching, I wonder if I'll be using it when I get a job someday.

    The first thing we did in college was C/C++, I wouldn't say computer science degree courses start with basic stuff (no pun intended). When you said "kids" I didn't think you meant "college level computer literate adults with previous experience with coding" :P

    Haha, well I wasn't referring to them, I heard somewhere the language was made for kids initially. Upon a google search I don't get anything like that so I guess I heard or assumed wrong.
