At the start of the era, memory cards were still pretty expected/standard. No one had any idea of “cloud” saves, and the PS3 was pretty wild with its ability to transfer to a USB stick. However, the Elite revision, iirc, phased out memory cards pretty soon after the original launch

@Chary You could still use memory cards with the 360 Elite, right, if only to transfer save data?

Yeah, it was the slim revision that got rid of mem cards
