    Ha, what did you break?

    I once dropped my laptop with something in a USB port, broke the connector inside. Opened it to get the bits of metal that were shorting the board (wouldn't power on). As I closed it back up, one of the screws wasn't going in.. I put a screw through my speaker wire! Had to open it up again, solder the wire and re-route the wire because it was now shorter than expected.

    And I've now noticed I have a weird crack appearing on my case, hopefully caused by the heat of an external HDD. Need to open it up again and make sure it's not the battery expanding.

    well, i mean i actually don't know what broke. it was a hardware problem though, because a CMOS reset did the trick and got it working again. i did take the thing apart though and a cable WAS connected incorrectly... maybe that was the issue?

    totally not what you had in yours, but it was still a problem needing fixing. :)
