I think we already know that Yabuse Wii, as a whole, is a concept that just barely worked, but never got seriously tweaked on (not only because it seems almost everyone hates Yabuse), mainly because of the lack of interest, and also the pain that it would be developing a Saturn emulator on a Wii.

But even so, Mednafen has proven to have a very acceptable Saturn emulation, even being considered as the best way to play it on PC. So i could ask, if there has been a possibility, or rather, IS THERE a possibility to make a playable port of Mednafen' Saturn emulator, to the Wii? And i know we have the RetroArch thingy, but i don't think this program is recommended on a system like the Wii is.

Technically yes, but it will run slow, like Yabause Wii have done.

If PC-FX emulation on Wii (from latest WiiMednafen 0.3-SNAPSHOT) is still somewhat slow, now imagine how will be Saturn emulation on Wii with a standalone port of Mednafen Saturn... also still being somewhat slow

And so it will continue. It gets "better" not because more talented developers are working on it, but because modern hardware is powerful enough to deal with most problems by brute force.

Stop wasting people's time. Thats like saying "Nobody is working on a PS2 emulator on the Vita because of no interest". There is a reason why Sega Saturn emulation is slow on the Wii!

@PacBunny With a Dynarec maybe there is a possibility to make something well like WiiSXRX (Wii station).
Well, that won't happen in your lifetimes. Also, porting Mednafen Saturn? Next up would be asking for a BSNES and PCSX2 ports. Single digit framerate emulators are not exactly popular. :D

The only thing that could happen is improving on whatever was already achieved with Yabause, like a dynarec, GPU acceleration, the works.

But even Virtual Jaguar Wii never got out of the PoC stage. Unless you create a bountysource like the one for the PCSX core, and people pitches real money in, it's never gonna happen.

It would be great, but yabause on the Nintendo Wii can be saved if someone who knows how to program. take it and modify and remove that automatic frame skip and put it to choose the skip frames to 1,2 and 3, and change the software plugin,
however, it would also be good to create a retroarch port of madnanfen saturn for the wii u and a console capable of emulating saturn would also be a dream.
