I think nintendo started to lose their way after the GBA-- wasting years of effort on no-fun nonsense like dual screens and autostereoscopic displays-- and now is completely adrift. They need to get blown away by some new game company just like they did to Atari et al back in the 80s. Most 3D games (on any platform) aren't much of a game: the gameplay is essentially the same as in a 2D, top-down game just with gigs and gigs of artwork hanging off it.

Take that Pokemon England game, known as "Sword and Shield": same old PokeBullshit with a few gimmicks thrown in that leave everyone nonplussed. (Sending your Pokes to work is lame.) The hedgerows and houses are beautiful to look at but the Pokemon themselves look like a middle school kid drew them using MS Paint.

Or Animal Crossing NH: it's just a lifeless remix of New Leaf. It is higher resolution, but I actually find the graphics less compelling than in New Leaf. I feel like I could be playing NH on any old tablet or phone, but NL still looks good and just seems a little more unique.

I could go on and on but I think playing tetris on a hacked minidisc player might be more fun.

like roblox and minecraft and also super mario 64
I don’t think Roblox is a Switch game, Mincraft is feeble on Switch (kind of a “tick the box“ release IMO) and Mario64 is a rerelease on NSO.

Do you like any of the Switch specific titles?

I agree there is a lot of shovelware on the Switch. Luckily we also have several decent quality games worth playing. Talking about questionable quality games, do any of you reading this enjoy those japanese visual novel games? Are they even games, or just interactive books? I never bother downloading them, when I read the description. Do people actually buy these and feel they got their money's worth?

Same here, as soon as I see a picture with some jap teen girl wearing "questionable" clothing, or anything with reams of text in it, cards or any of those turn based games - it gets put on the ignore list.

Well, it's called visual novel for a reason. Don't even think they qualify as games because there's no gameplay.
Now there are definitely many good visual novels, for beginners you can try STEINS;GATE or Danganronpa series, both have very compelling stories.

Probably an acquired taste, but the problem for me is that the art used by most of them repulses me. I don't have much interest seeing what seems to be teen girls with huge breasts. Probably some artists are better than others, so I don't want to put them all in the same basket.

Quick note for the people wasting their time with discussion: deathblade is an entitled idiot not worth to bother with.
Thanks for your attetnion.
not sure where being "entitled" even comes into this discussion. me disproving false claims in no way makes me "entitled" if anything this comment makes you sound entitled that people should listen to and obey what you have to say

Sounds like you are browsing the wrong category of visual novels.. Also most visual novel style games on switch are just shovelware with questionable cover/screenshots to make them appealing to some of their target audience.
That being said, there are some decent visual novels ported to switch. If you are into scifi stuff you can give STEINS;GATE a try. Or if you are into detective stuff, try out famicom detective club, root film/letter.

Since that's all you do (or at least try to achieve), yes it does indeed make you entitled, like a little teenager.
Seriously, I see no normal comment from you or a directly helpful one, it's always bundled with you """"disproving false claims"""".
