@Slash1 Iam not a developer, so iam not in specific details. But i linked three noob proofed tutorials wich are already tested and worked to install b9s on 11.16. And as i see, iam sure they would give you a answer.

@Soraiko Best open a thread in DS or 3DS section, there are a lot of kernel requests for flashcards. And post a picture with details (especialy manufacturer domain), then we can go for it and check for a kernel, alternative YS-Menu or TWLmenu++ for flashcards.

Maybe its already this one for your posted card here.

could you explain this sentence more? I think it will solve my problem?
((Pichaxx should still work fine, just change the otherapp to *hax version (the cfg:s ones I made) and use slotTool.3dsx to install usm.))
i change old3ds_usa.bin to otherapp.bin from otherapps_with_CfgS folder(release 1.3)
https://github.com/zoogie/unSAFE_MODE/releases/tag/v1.3
sorry this means changes otherapp.bin to 2.9alpha.bin?

Update to the latest firmware version and try it with the seedminer method.

when I dump and install games using gm9, they don’t show up in checkpoint. Is there anything I should do to load them and once they show up, do I have to do anything else to transfer the cart save to the legit copy?

You have to start them first so that your 3ds can create a "dummy save file". After closing the software, the game should pop up in checkpoint.

Yes, I worded the post wrong.
Then plug in your cartridge, backup highlight the game (not the digital version) inside either Checkpoint or JKSM, and click backup save. Remove cartridge, highlight the installed version and click "restore".
Again, you'd to launch the game (digital version) atleast once in order for it to appear in Checkpoint.

(@reidling) fyi there's also save-data-copy-tool which is a bit quicker way of doing that, it doesn't require loading the game first and is specifically made for copying a bunch of carts over to installs.

How would I do it with nds carts?

Couple of years ago I put Luna3ds, FBI etc on a 3DS. Can't excatly remember how I did it but all works well. I'm wanting to copy some of the roms from the SD card back on to my PC but when accessing the SD card and looking into the files it isn't clear which rom is which. They are all random number and letter strings and appear to be .app files. Pretty sure they were .3DS or .CIA files when I was originally adding them

Is there software that will read a 3DS formatted SD card to diaplay the roms on it and have a way of copying them back over to the PC into their original .3DS/.CIA format?

Do you still have those games installed on the system? If so, you can dump them with GodMode9 then copy to the pc.
Also, make sure you don't have them (cia files) on your cias folder, or wherever you stored them.
As to the .app files, where did you find them exactly? I'd assume inside the Nintendo 3DS..
Completely unrelated but, you should update to boot9strap if you're still on A9lh, one way to know is to check the version of Luma3DS that's on there if it's not below v7.0.5..

the sd card lists them by title id iirc. it's high id, then low id. high id is like the 00040000 folder, while low id is the unique number for each game. you'd have to look them up on wiibrew I guess, I dunno.

He wants his games in cia (or 3ds?) format, so the installed game files might not be useful to him.. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I know. I was just explaining to him how they appear on the sd card. I thought he wanted to know how they're logically stored.
Come to think of it, if one would use those installed files they'd work only with his system, can't be used in other 3DSes even if they have cfw. So they're practically useless..

Thank you for the replies.

The games are all named the same '00000000.app'. Mounting the SD card in a windows PC gives me them in the following path:

Nintendo 3DS\<random string>\<random string>\00040000\<random string, eg 000a5b00> (Game ID?)\content

My intent is to use the roms on Citra Android version. Was hoping the easiest way would be to copy them over from the 3ds sd card to the one for my tablet.

From what you are saying though as they are installed I take it that's not going to work? If that's the case it's not a bother and can go about it another way.

Thanks CoolMe re the heads up on updating bootstrap
