Sonic Pocket Adventure is glitched for me. The first boss just disappeared. I'm using Twilight Menu. Latest version. DSi

* Added Quit Emulator menu item.
* Added Overclock EWRAM menu item.
* Better menu traversing.

Thanks for this new update Flubba.

On my side I always have problems with save states : When I save, most of the time the sound get corrupt. When I load, most of the time SFX are missing (music is OK).

Can you test this new version, added a couple of things to the save state regarding communication between the main cpu and the sound cpu... might have had something to do with the missing sound fx.

The sound does not get corrupt anymore on my side (crackling sound). However missing sfx is still there. Best games to test are Sonic and King of Fighters R2. It happens 95% of the time.

Now I have optimized the Z80 communication and fixed the save state handling of com latch. I Hope it works correctly now.

You made it :) Many thanks.

However I spoke too fast : crackling sound is still there. Unfortunately, it is difficult to reproduce, it is random.

What I noticed :

- Does not happen on DSi or 3DS internal SD but ONLY on flashcards (tested on DSTWO and R4)
- Speed hacks does not affect the problem
- As stated before, it is random but can be seen very fast with Sonic after 2-3 savestates
- It happens, it seems, when it writes the save states
- The only way to get rid of the crackling sound is to reboot the console and start a NEW game
- Loading the affected savestate at boot will not solve the problem, it is still corrupt

What you need to do to reproduce de problem very fast :

- A DS with flashcard (can be a DSi or 3DS but you need to load the emulator from the flashcard, not TWL++).
- Sonic the Hedgehog
- launch and play the game 10 seconds
- Save : if the problem does not show up, continue to play and save few seconds later... Repeat until the problem happens (it will take no more than 4-5 tries)

Do not save once and load 100 times the same savestate, the corruption happens only when you save.

I'm sorry, spent several hours trying to reproduce the crackling sound on my DS-Lite & DSi with my R4 and CycloDSi cards without any luck.
@CrashMidnick Do you run the normal menus on your card? I downloaded the latest menu (V1.85b) from r4i-sdhc.com yesterday.

Yet another surprise. What's more, it came out of nowhere.
This year you never cease to amaze us.:)

Note: Too bad about the arcade version of Double Dragon, which I was really hoping for.
But it seems that most people don't like it...
Are you talking about this Double Dragon?

Yes both flash cards are up to date. I deleted all my savestates + settings.ini. Now the problem comes less often but is still there.
Can someone with a DSTWO test ? It is very easy to reproduce the problem in Sonic when you reach Secret Plant Act 1.
If I use TWL++ (flashcard version), it does not happen. I wanted to share with you my corrupt savestate but when I save it to my computer and then copy back to the flashcard, the savestate works

At least I have a workaround with TWL++

EDIT :

EDIT 2 : Nope happens on TWL++ too :(

I got stuck in trying to get sound working in Rockman Battles & Fatal Fury without the bios, but I finally found a huge bug in my HLE BIOS code so now a lot more games should work without a BIOS.
  • Fixed writing to scroll registers.
  • Optimized K2GE access.
  • Added speedhack for Big Bang Pro Wrestling.
  • More games should work without a BIOS.

It works perfect (now rockman fight with sound) for most Ngp games.Tested by ds lite. Thank you for your continuous effort to make this emulator even better & better!

The only issue I'm having is with the bios, which seems to freeze the emulator on "Please Wait, Power On". So far, I've tried a couple of different bios, moved them to different file locations and changed the emulator settings, and they didn't seem to fix anything. Any ideas why this might be? Thanks in advance.

Same problem here. Any solution ?

I can play Card fighters just fine (flash save, save state and all) without a bios, but i get no sound.
I get sound ingame if i select a bios file in the menu, save the settings, and load the game right after. But garanteed "Please wait, power on" freeze on startup the next time i launch the emulator. Have to delete the settings.cfg file to use the emulator again.
I can load the bios file like a game and it works as intended, boot animation, menu music, horoscope, etc.

I'm using a DSiXL and Twilight menu++ on the internal SD card. Modded ~2 months ago.

Thanks a lot FluBBa for this emulator, really appreciate it.
