The Latest Standalone build for Flycast for switch is actually a huge improvement
Now it supports Box art and Disc Art for your games!!

Plus some games got a major improvement from my testing.
For Example: Jet Set Radio. This game where in the previous versions of Fly-cast Standalone would be playable but still had FPS dips in Native Resolution and some graphical glitches even with the "Per-Pixel" option.
But now with the newest standalone update there's almost to 0 no issues playing though
Tbh it feels like if it was a switch port with this newest update.(We Need A 60FPS Patch! JK This game is 30 FPS locked)
So If you interested in Playing Jet Set Radio or Any other DC game Like Sonic Adventure 1-2 (Sonic Adventure 1 with the 60FPS patch works of course)
Check it out the latest build for Flycast Standalone for the Nintendo Switch Its worth it!!
(The Flycast NSP forwarder works for this if you want Full Ram Access instead of using the hold R for Full Ram when selecting a game)

Download to the Latest Flycast Standalone is in the link below

i thought reicast on retroarch was the way to go to play dreamcast on the switch

is it still the case?
Yeah but it freezes on some games like JSR
Where i would try to play through it and it would either lag spike or crash on retroarch core
compared to the Flycast Standalone
Like retroarch is good but it still has its issues with the flycast core
atleast to my experience compared to the standalone version
and I thought Reicast was removed from Retroarch
it only has Flycast core
atleast for the switch version or retroarch

does marvel vs capcom 2 run better now??
for that and any other 2d games for dreamcast and atomiswave, I would say use flycast core in lakka. Pretty much has everything fixed including, battery, dock, wireless joycons, and it has vulkan. Plus its so easy to boot back and forth between lakka and custom HOS using hekate, i would even say it takes less than 1 minute to change from HOS and lakka, and vice versa.

I just re tested MVC2 on latest flycast on lakka and for me it is stable 60fps the whole time, and I played for about 1hr and even beat the game. I also choose the biggest characters and had all assists on screen and still stable at 60fps, no slowdowns at all even at 2X res. Do you have the latest version of Lakka, and also you might need to slightly OC both the CPU and GPU.

Nah I use the switch fw with OC
I probably gotta tweak with the settings again
But glad that you were able to make it work!

I think for now thats the issue with switch FW for games like MVC2. From what i understand, the amount of sprites in that game and how its handled by the switch FW, it will be hard to get it fullspeed 60fps no matter how much you play with the settings. So for anyone who wants to play the game fullspeed, lakka is the way to go for now.
