I saw that the movie is available on Netflix the other day, but haven't brought myself to watch it yet. I love the original The Munsters, but feel like it's actually the performances of Fred Gwynne and Al Lewis as Herman and Grandpa Munster respectively that I'm a fan of. They're great in Car 54, Where Are You? as well.

I used to be into White Zombie as a youth, but haven't really been too fond of much from Rob Zombie since. I've sat through most of his other movies though, so may still watch this.

I saw the abysmal trailer a few weeks back. redlettermedia doing the best breakdown of why it is awful

Many of the originals are available for free as well

As above I have not been a great fan of any of Mr Zombie's films, though some I can appreciate as decent films even if not for me.

One review of the movie started with (I paraphrase): "you know how WB canned a completely finished Batgirl movie and people said it couldn't be that bad, why not release it, make at least some of the budget back, 'how much damage could one movie do?'; well after seeing the new Munsters, you'll understand."
It also compared the development of the new Munsters movie to the development of The Homer in that one episode of the Simpsons. Rob Zombie was given a sack of money and zero oversight. The results were comparable.
