Hello,

This project is an attempt to translate Digimon Story: Super Xros Wars to Spanish, yet everything posted will be written in English, as the GBAtemp rules state. If you're interested in an English translation, I think there's already a thread dedicated to that, created by somebody else. Even so, if you're a translator or have background hacking NDS games and would like to collaborate, don't hesitate and contact me.

It's important to mention that my knowledge of Digimon is kinda limited, I haven't watched a complete show since my childhood; yet even I know that the correct terminology is a matter of discussion. For that reason, I will try to stick to Japanese terminology as much as possible. If you were to encounter any incorrect name or terminology, link me to the original source and I'll fix it. If a source didn't exist, but every fan in the world is okay with a certain terminology even if no official material backs it up, I would have no problem using it. Needless to say, transliterations, words that are originally written in katakana, abbreviations and whatnot, will not be considered as wrong even if somebody says so, as it all comes to personal preference.
I enjoy the process of doing this, hope you do too!

Regarding the project status, a lot of images have been identified during the ongoing exploration of the game files, editing and inserting them is not a problem but is a slow process. Also, the text scripts extraction and insertion workflow has already been sorted out. This time I'm using a web based localization tool, Weblate, to speed up my translation process (probably I'll migrate my previous Nora and the Time Studio Translation Project scripts to this platform too, even if it's already finished).
The project is still in an early state of development, consider it a teaser.

No problem, and yes, translations in Latin American Spanish aren't common

I hope that we might get an English version too. I know you can do it since you translated nora. Is it so hard or time consuming to have both languages since you do the hacking - translation for one? Sorry for my ignorance. I really don't understand why they did not localized this game in the first place.

ok but my title is more like if bandai were localized the game plus character names like Taiki-Mikey

AFAIK there's an ongoing English translation too, but its on hiatus apparently. Is it hard doing it in both languages? Probably. Is it time consuming? Hell yeah. Especially editing graphics is really time consuming.
But the text inserter tool I created should work independently of the language, at least for english and spanish (for other languages the font would need some extra modifications and the characters table .tbl should be modified too).

Thank you for your reply. As for the other translation project I think it is abandoned. Hope someone can continue your work for an English translation. If I had the skills or if can learn I would like to contribute for an English version.

The english translation is actually dead, i spoke with a member who told me the lead dev haven't contacted them in years.

This game requires an AP patch to be able to play it on console either by Twilight Menu or flashcard. I hope you take it into account once the translation is done
