Ah, no, Android Studio isn't exclusive to Windows. There's a Mac Version and Linux one, too :)
Unfortunately I'll probably be in the same boat as you: I got a Samsung Phone with Exynos and a Tablet with a Cortex SOC ... damn it :D

Hopefully someone else will read this and will be able to help with the testing!

thanks for your help. I'm pretty sure that it works, because the official, github version does the same thing. and, I also have a samsung phone. I read somewhere that they're going to fix it eventually to where you don't need a specific phone.

You able to piece together a new Github build? I heard they fixed the performance of the 3D Special Stages and added other optimizations and fixes. Unable to compile it myself due to just having an Android phone.

Much-appreciated! Just jumped into the first Special Stage Ring I could find, and am pleased to report that the 3D Special Stages are indeed running at the proper framerate. In most v1.0 APK builds floating around the internet, the framerate in such areas was super-slow, due to lack of optimization.

As for the shaders, that's an easy fix. Take the attached files, and move their Shaders/UltrawideMania folders into "RSDK/V5/mods", then create and/or open the modconfig.ini file, and ensure it looks like this...

[Mods]
Shaders=y
UltrawideMania=y

it says something about mods on the github instructions, almost as if it's possible to inject them directly. I looked over the android.mk that comes with the repo. based on that, I wouldn't know how to create my own. I'm still new to android builds, but I also did an sm64 build, just can't share it since the assets are inside the apk itself.

Also, would it be possible to create a separate thread, for Github-commit-related APK updates, so as not to clog up unrelated topics?
you may be right, considering I no longer need help with android studio. I was able to build mario in linux with the android sdk, but I built this in windows with android studio. kinda curious if I'd have any problems compiling this in linux. it seems to suggest using windows though. I'm not entirely sure how to install ndk in linux unless it's built into the sdk. that's required to build it.

Apologies for poking again so soon, but a new commit to the RSDK portion of the decomp just dropped, fixing up the DrawCircle routine, so transitioning from Press Garden to Stardust Speedway no longer crashes the game, as well as fixing a random crash from exiting the save-select menu back to the main menu.
