hey guys, as of late my switch has been acting up. I'm on the latest Atmosphere and have the latest sigpatches. But whenever I try to install an nsp I keep getting this error.

"Failed to import ticket! This is usually caused by missing sigpatches for your firmware or a corrupted ticket database"

what should I do? I suspect the ticket database might be corrupted.

Latest firmware as well?

Download Sigpatches again from here just to be sure. It’s almost always Sigpatches…always.

Sigpatches (GBATemp) — alternative Sigpatches for when others don’t seem to work.

yup, and I'll try the sigpatches.

btw I've gotten advice to get rid of my old emummc and restore a backup of the latest one, where can I find the option to remove the emummc in Hekate?

It’s almost always Sigpatches but sometimes it can be corruption of the sdcard’s file system (exfat doesn’t play well with homebrew.)

If you want to go the restore emummc route, you just overwrite your current with a backup or make a new one from your Sysnand, just like you did before. There is no delete button. You could also just format the sdcard as FAT32 to be 100% sure, but that might be taking it a bit too far…

hm true, I think I'll just make a new Sysnand and overwrite the old one with the new one

Edit: decided to use a guide that had an alternate method which involved using NXNandManager to make the backup on my PC. Though it seems to be frozen after backing up and not verifying yet. I'm waiting for it to verify so I can continue.

Hopefully that works. Hekate should have been able to do it on the Switch. Hmmmmm. I hope your sdcard isn’t corrupted. Knock on wood.

unfortunately it failed again, I think it is the sd card but earlier today I picked up a new SD card (256GB) so now I need a guide to setup a clean atmosphere install. also I need to know what format my new SD card needs to be at so I can start

Here’s the guide I use: https://rentry.co/SwitchHackingIsEasy

Format your SDCard to FAT32 w/ 32k block size using rufus.

e: are you on Erista (V1) or Mariko (V2)?

ok did everything and got back into atmosphere. and I still get the same damned error on tinfoil. and this is on a brand new sdcard so it's got to be tinfoil. it's not the emunand and it's not the sigpatches. I think it's tinfoil that's refuses to install nsps

edit: nevermind, I think I might know why tinfoil is giving me those errors. I need to get the keys.txt file.

Tinfoil shouldn’t need keys.txt to install NSPs. Just needs Sigpatches.

That said, here’s a page for using Lockpick_RCM to do it: https://rentry.org/DumpingKeys

Can you download an nsp from somewhere and install it using another installer?

I've tried to use tinwoo but it doesn't detect my switch as being connected

Grab a small game like Othello.nsp and drop it on your SDCard. That way Tinwoo can install it locally without any external prerequisites. Tinwoo is a great installer and just works…

(side note your PC probably needs drivers to recognize the switch, but let’s adress that later…just want to get a game successfully installed first…process of elimination.)

Throw Othello.nsp on your sd card and use the sd card install method inside of Tinwoo. You will be able to navigate the file system and find your .nsp file and install it.

e: first option on the list
