Just curious, I did a quick search on Amazon US, for us living down under here in Australia and thinking of getting one. Think again, it will cost you around $700 AUD, not included shipping, yeah nah, pass.
Try importing from amazon Japan they deduct tax if shipped to overseas and with the current exchange rates it is cheaper than importing from amazon US.

Terrible promo video

But I want these, assuming I can still use prescription lenses. hopefully they work well

I don't believe you can. You'd have to wear it over your existing glasses or contacts.
Nreal has always shipped special lens inserts with both the Light and Air glasses. But you'll have to get the actual prescription lens from a local optician's and then you'll be able to wear them on. I've done that and it works great!

What makes text unreadable?
Isn't AR images superimposed in real scenarios, like contextual info from stores if you are looking at them and warnings if you are in front of a charging bull and can't process that that specific hunk of sentient beef will ram it's horns on you and make you bleed?

I don't know. Please clarify. Watch bulls. Specially on your wife.

How does that work? Just bring the frames to the optician and say you want new lenses cut to fit the new frame I assume?

I’ve always just purchased whatever cheap frames the shop has lol

yeah, the lens inserts are samples to provide the right size/fit. An optician should be able to cut new ones of that shape and replace the samples with your prescription.

The inserts then clip into the glasses securely

I am not too interested in the AR part, but I have been looking somewhat for glasses that can stream from my handheld devices (through USB or a wireless connection with no lag) so I can play games without straining my arms or neck.

Anyone know if these are good for that?

Also, do they get really hot?

Some VR makes me throw up. I remember playing some racing game on the ps4 where i did a few donuts on the track by accident and it took me 10 minutes to get over the feeling of loosing my lunch...

100% yes. Holding my steam deck near my face while lying down was terrible. Now I can lay down and look at a huge screen at my ceiling and hold the device as if it was just a normal controller. I think the top of the glasses where it touches your eyebrows get a little warm but never hot.

Seems about right given that there are a number of obvious drawbacks to something like this, most of which are covered by the one three-star review that's up on Amazon already. Pretty much the only use case would be watching movies/TV shows (without subtitles) on a simulated big screen, as text is unreadable.

You can just need to get em fitted

You should update the 360 to newest dash before RGHing it yes. But not a big deal if you don't, you can install new dash/avatar updates after. It's just easier to do it auto online before, instead manual offline after.

@BigOnYa I wanted to ask you about your experience with seeing south park. Most of the people a bit younger like my younger brother and cousins that are a few younger than me that saw kids found south park funny because of the curse words, kids at school, that seemed like liking the show on a very basic level.

I could not quite have a in depth discussion of the show.

How was it for you? As an adult. What did you find the most interesting part about it. Did you relate to the parents of the kids and their situations. Was it satires, the commentary on society. The references on celebrities' and pop culture.

I remember seeing the very first episode back in the day, and have watched every episode since. I used to set my VCR to record them even, shows how long ago.

I just like any comedies really, and cartoons have always been a favorite of mine. Family guy, American Dad, Futurama, Cleveland Show, Simpsons - I like them all.

South Park is great cause they always touch on relavent issues going on today, and make something funny out of it.

@BigOnYa were you always up to date on the current events and issues of the time or were there issues that you first found out thru south park
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Most of the time yea I knew, I watch and read the news regularly, but sometimes the Hollywood BS stuff, like concerning actors slip by me. I don't follow most Hollywood BS (example: the Kardasians)

  • S @ salazarcosplay:
@BigOnYa there were relevant issues before south park was made, that's why i think a south park prequel/spinoff would be great. Randy and his friends in their child hood

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea, like them running in high school together, getting into stuff, and how they got hitched and had kids. And how the town of South Park was back then compared to now. That would be cool to see.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
    yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@salazarcosplay if they made a prequel, it would still be about current issues, cause it doesn't make sense to make it about stuff that happened 30 years ago that nobody cares about anymore
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's too late
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the older south park episodes about particular issues usually age poorly since the topic is no longer relevant

an exception is giant douche vs turd sandwich, that's always relevant :P
