There is no hardware mods for dslite that will enable homebrew
No I mean put a gba game pak slot in a dslite co GameBoy game Paks will fit and then homebrew to let me play them because when you put a GB game in a DS/dslite it just won't play

GameYob is the best way to play GB/GBC on the DS through a slot-1 card. Goomba Color is okay, but chugs in heavy games, mostly later GBC games like Shantae. GameYob is probably the best experience you'll get. It can even be configured to use just the bottom screen, too!

There's nothing that can be done to a DS/DS Lite that can add physical GB(C) support. The DS is missing the hardware voltage switch (GB(C) carts ran in 5V while GBa is 3.3V). It's also missing the CGB CPU, aka the backwards compatible CPU used in actual GBAs. Like others have said in the thread, your best bet is emulating through a slot-1 flashcart

As above then no hardware and ease of emulation means that is the suggested route. You could possibly have it as a firmware inject at the cost of the firmware in general (that or a wifi loaded thing but eh).

Halfway house...
Two broad approaches to the same method as you are basically going to turn it into a dumper -- lack of 5V is possibly a problem but boost convertors have come on quite a lot in recent years and if it is for a few minutes to act as a dumper rather than running it is not so bad.
1) You adapt the DS internals and homebrew to support it as a dumper.
2) You put an adapter in between the GBA slot and your own custom made slot and do it in hardware (possibly faking a GBA game), dump that and run it in an emulator.
If you are asking this sort of question you are way short of being able to do that, though maybe some shortcuts could be taken

Correct. The only remnants of the GB(C) remaining on the DS are some sound channels, only used in GBA mode. The rest of the hardware is gone. There are a few GBA homebrew programs that intentionally "crash" it into GBC mode, mostly just to test/confirm this theory, and as expected, it never gets past the BIOS screen.

@K3Nv2 Snow Day is pretty fun. My only bitch would be the camera controls, when you move around, say down, you have to move the right stick left or right to get camera to turn and get your view, other than that I like it so far.

From what people say pvp isn't even worth it
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I just been playing offline, and they give you a few bots here n there on your team to help battle. I don't think it's as funny as the other games tho, more battle oriented than humor, which kinda sucks, but I'm still early in it
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, doesnt the game have a campaign mode?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea, and co-op, but you can also start a pvp session and battle just with friends. You get special skill cards (powers) the more you play. And higher value cards, but you can only enable so many cards at a time.

If you can find enough for it
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Toilet paper is considered the money, you collect and buy stuff with TP, kinda funny. Graphics are def better than the other games tho, I think they used Unity 5 engine.

I bet most people at the time still watched it in black and white
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Many of them did before colour television was common.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Likely because black and white TV was in-expensive.

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
It certainly wasn't inexpensive it cost the same as a new car back then
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
How much did a 1965 color TV cost?

For example, a 21-inch (diagonal) GE color television in 1965 had an advertised price of $499, which is equal to $4,724 in today's dollars, according to the federal government's inflation calculator.

@K3Nv2, take into consideration how economy was back then
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah that's why they listed inflation rates
