Oh i forgot about that. Do you want full draw of everything or just the buildings and signs?
I was thinking everything but I don't really know what all that would entail. I'll admit, I'm just assuming this will work (possibly with an overclock turned on). I just think it'd be neat to to avoid some of the pop-in. Appreciate the consideration!

What should i call the debug option?
"Disable culling"? I'm trying to think of what PC games call it..

I hope you have a faster computer than mine because I get 21 fps with no culling.
If anything, I'll grow into it...hopefully :)

@wiiAdventurer Of course it will work. I had to spend alot of time hiding things behind the camera in order to get it to run at 60fps on the wii. So undoing that is pretty easy. I created a menu option in the debug menu called "NO CULLING".

I get 30fps on real wii hardware with no culling. basically slow motion.

Works perfectly. Flawless 4k 60fps. Thank you!

I just love the city-scape, I just watch the fly-by and listen to the music :D

It'd be fun to have a sim-city or roller-coaster tycoon type game in this style.

Thanks again!!!

Ha, your PC/graphiccard is much more powerful than mine. YOu can also control the camera of the demo/attract mode in the debug menu and the demo runs forever, even past the stages that are playable.

- took out some of the flashing signs
- extented the grid and view frustum to allow for the distant buildings
- the buildings are consistently darker
- no culling option in debug menu for those emulating the game on fast PCs.
- 3 additional bg songs

Its a artistic change. The flashing signs tend to sync up when too many are spawned in close proximity. I am trying to normalize and spread them out in a more consistent way.

Nice, i'll try give this a whirl before the weekend!

Side note... Did you manage to look into adding the wii u gamepad as a controller at all? Not for gyro as i assume that would be a major headache! No probs if not even wanting to do it of course!

making some new horizon textures for NewoZero #wii #homebrew - 8 strips. 8 distant objects. A couple of them will be blanks of course. this is how the texture looks so far. half of the rows are for horizon fade, the other for distant objects like mountains. 1024x1024. Each cell is 64x64. Of course this image will be loaded from disk and can be modded. The horizon repeats while the obj doesnt.

I basically leave the game at the start screen for 24hrs. Its mostly for testing to see if the mp3 player keeps looping as intended. Also for memory leaks which might cause the game to crash after extended play.

Yes, its a real level but its not playable. Similar levels are in arcade and hard championships.

For the first video, I like the suns on the horizon but the trees (?) and building don't really go with the overall aesthetic of the game.

But the second video is amazing. I think that just shows what kind of beautiful little world you've created. It is simply breath-taking soaring over the city. Seriously would love a pilot wings style game in this same world :D

Thanks for sharing!

In the new version of the game i have added more options for suns/moons and distant buildings/mountains on the horizon. The graphics in the video are placeholder until i get some help with designing the graphics.

Version 2 had 4 sun/moon options, but version 3 will have 19. The goal Is to add variety to the backgrounds but i will ensure that everything stays in the same synthwave vibe.

Thanks for you comment. Sticking with the asthectic is very important.

* Over the next couple weeks i will see if i can find people to contribute/help with the extra graphics.
