It unfortunately doesn't work, shouldn't it be an rcf instead of an xcf?

it still shows the normal molecule logo either before or after the boot animation, at least for me. I had it freezing sometimes half way through the boot animation, so I uninstalled everything related to that app.
I found that I would sometimes get freezing depending upon what else my Vita was doing around the same time, so I rearranged the timing of some of my plugins so they would do all the heavy lifting first and then do the animations while doing light work.
Oh, and boot sound….the sound clipping drove me nuts but rearranging helped out a ton there too. It still clips on occasion but 99% of the time it’s flawless.

I'm a very basic person, prefer function rather than form. I only recently, like the past month, changed my desktop wallpaper to something other than default.

I agree wrt addons…first it should do no harm.
(but after that, the closer I can get to a total nascar style sticker bomb, the better!1!!1!1)

Can someone so still find the Linux executable? It got replaced with the windows version on github

Each gif required different settings for me. I had to try many different configurations.
Some configs that are perfect for some don't do the same for others. It is a bit tedious to do.
For list of parameters on linux I think the command is ./mkanim -help
btw, I don't think it's the op's boot animations that are the problem with freezing. I think it's the app. :-/
