It's an AMD thing. Most people just recommend switching to OpenGL for this region. I, sadly, ran into a problem where OpenGL crashes after I start ANY battle, as soon as I draw the weapon. I honestly have no idea what to do anymore, I deleted the cache, turned off all the mods, etc. Did anyone here ever stumble into that sort of thing?
CPU
AMD Ryzen 5 3550H with Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx
4 Cores
GPU
Radeon RX 560X
16 GB ram + tons of virtual memory
I see. Impossible to run on openGL here. Is there nothing we can do for now?

for opengl, you have to use the Custom Yuzu Build (Fixes Memory Leak Issue) from the first post. It works great. Default settings then you can try async shaders on or off.

test using only Disable Scaling + 2K mods.

Update on RAM usage.

Just got out of Colony 4, and my RAM usage literally doubled once the cutscene started playing - sitting at 14.2GB/16GB. It eventually settled back to 8GB 5 minutes after the cutscene finished. Thought all was well and good until the game's audio cut out once I started battling an Elite dodongo wannabe after recruiting Ethel for the mission. The game still ran fine, but the audio wouldn't start back up, so I just called it a night.

For what it's worth, I have over 15GB set up for Virtual RAM, so I'm not entirely sure what the issue is. I'll have to take a look again tonight.

I really do wish that Nintendo would just release a console capable of playing this game at a full 60FPS.

Thxs, i'll try. Someone have the openGL shader cache to download? on openGL here, have much more stuttering, due to shader.

I'm using the custom build and it worked perfectly throughout chapter 4. But when I decided to explore Pentelas after getting to chapter 5 it started crashing after I got into any fights. Do you have any idea what could cause this? My specs were in my last post in this thread if they are relevant.

If you have a problem, you can try:

1) test all options:

- Yuzu EA Vulkan (need Vulkan Workaround mod to fix yellow water)
- Yuzu OpenGL custom build
- Ryunjinx OpenGL
- Ryunjinx Vulkan (has bugs, but maybe you can clear a problematic region)

2) minimal mods. Only Disable Scaler and 2K.

You can copy saves from Yuzu to Ryunjinx and vice-versa. Test both emus

Nvidia has assembly shaders. Yuzu OpenGL is faster than Vulkan for 60 fps mod in my pc.

Yes your specs are relevant because you have an AMD card so most of your issues unfortunately come down to their still subpar windows drivers, honestly i recommend trying Linux since the AMD drivers there are far superior to their windows counterpart.

The main issue is that it stopped working. OpenGL with the newest AMD drivers gave me 20-30 fps with almost no stutters (with a 30-minute cache build-up before playing). Now, when I start a battle in any region, it immediately crashes. This cannot be an AMD problem, I doubt that it magically breaks when getting to chapter 5. I can easily continue playing the main story but hate leaving stones unturned.

Update: I reset all settings and tried Async on/off. Nothing changed. Ryujinx is a no-go, the game doesn't even boot in both Vulkan and OpenGL. I have tried going back to 2.7.1 drivers and it didn't help either. I turned off all AMD Adrenaline options and it didn't do anything. I deleted all cache from both Vulkan and OpenGL. I am currently stuck in limbo waiting for a miracle to happen, hopelessly switching things on and off.

I hope someone can help. I don't even need my graphics to be good at this point, I just want to go to that one cave I found without getting a seizure.

OH MY GOD, ok so I somehow figured it out. I hope this helps someone else too.
The crash actually wasn't happening because of me starting a battle, well, not really. I figured it out by checking all my party members' unsheathing animations in their art menus. The double-blade that the Lone Exile has was the reason it crashed. For some reason when the game tries to load shaders when a character unsheathes the double-blade it immediately crashes, even on the arts screen. So, I changed my class in Vulkan and now OpenGL works as it should.

Lone Exile is LITERALLY game-breaking.

This doesn't happen for me on nvidia in fact i have not seen a crash in 30h and i can't reproduce it on my AMD laptop either
so it's very likely just a broken shader this happens from time time especially when installing new driver versions, purging the shader cache should fix it.

Have there been any developments from theboy181? Are the publicly released mods pretty much the final ones? Or is there more if you donate.

We are basically at the stage where there's little else that can be done until the emulators themselves improve and fix their issues with the game. And well, we're getting close to a month since release. The longer it's been since release, the less relevant it gets.

Is it possible to change certain music tracks like the normal battle theme to a different song? With a game this long I would love to be able to do that. Other than that: no crash or memory leak and stable FPS in 35hrs playtime with 2888 Yuzu + vulkan, mushashi mod and 60fps cutscene fix.

Try the custom yuzu and set the resolution scale to 0.75x and OpenGL. You should have no problems after that.

I was mostly wondering about the crashes with the 60 fps mod. I went ahead and donated now though and got wip8 which fixes them :)
