Thanks for the info. I just found out that it is also available here in the Philippines. the card reader itseld is available too at a very low price.
To everyone facing this issue be aware that while changing the sd card back and fort or dropping the console are mostly the causes of the issue, overheating of the SoC and of the same fpc connector that's to the left of the processor could also cause this problem. So be careful of dropping your switch while installing a game to the sd card and also remember to change the thermal paste of your switch or put a cooling pad on the external sd module so it connects to the aluminium faceplate.

This problem might have been caused by improperly placed thermal paste at the time. I suspect the area overheated when I placed paste too thick. I'll wait for the repairman to finish his job then reapply minimal thermal paste only.
Could heat be a cause of this issue?
My wife's Switch at the moment have a wire took from a HD ribbon cable, soldered from the circular pad on mainboard and to the card reader since 6 months now it's ugly as a hell but works 
Yup, 100%. I had mine serviced and worked well but then the console started to overheat and i lost the repair and the sd card also got damaged. It's important to reapply paste and check the temps through hekate, also recommend finding a way to cool off the sd module (rubber cooling pads).
When you say cooling the sd module, are you referring to the sd slot itself ot the connecting board to the motherboard?
The dispossable sd module, Nintendo ships it with a black rubber pad that i don't think it's thermal or even touches the backplate completely, so i recommend putting a cooling pad on top of it making sure it touches the aluminium plate.
Also some people had put thermal pads on the eemc, the cooler your console the safer you are of having issues with the sd connector.
I assumed the padding was to help the module make contact with the motherboard... Does that part heat up that much?
