Portal post though will be directed back here for discussions.

Played it a little (the shot of the battle is still playing audio on the floor after I left it to rip the SD card out of the camera). Fairly standard RPG but if you like Zoids that should be more than enough, and if you wanted by the numbers RPG (occasionally I do) then same.
Supercard DS one for the shots and desmume for the other, as far as I am aware/can see there is only the one version of this game (it is quite early in the ROM running/DS lifetime, though late enough that we are largely spared the pointless touchscreen gimmicks at this stage, though I might have liked a better touchscreen menu.

Tavern scene/text in first town was somewhat amusing.

Oh yeah B to run and fast forward/instant scroll text.

Thank you so much for making that post about the release! I've no DS to test it on, but it's pretty cool that it even works on original hardware, though I can't see any reason why it wouldn't work

Glad you liked the tavern scene. That is one of my favourites behind Regina and Leena's New Century scuffle

Also big thanks for pointing me in the right direction when I first enquired about wanting to help the project. 🙂

If a game on a system we care about around here gets translated into English (or otherwise is relevant in this), much less a big RPG, I will share it... I say having missed several since the last one.

There have been occasions where people use the wrong compression that causes things to be troubled but yeah hardware tends to work and only random header/trivially sorted issues that stop it for certain flash carts usually.

Always happy to help people into translation and hacking. This short an amount of time to go from new to it all to basically completed work is also not unprecedented but super super rare.

Proceeded to play a bit more of the game and start getting proper weapons, commands, levels and such like. How some claimed that was doable without a menu translation at one point I will never know.

How they gonna put that sweet sweet high school musical DS on the front page article and not let us drop a comment on it?
I just wanted to avoid having to split focus between two threads so for anything with an active GBAtemp thread from the author (or otherwise established on the forums beforehand) then we tend to lock the front page and direct things to the forum thread. Only real exception being if the forum thread wants to be a more focused bug reports or something.

That said yeah it is a nice DS. https://gbatemp.net/threads/things-you-recently-bought-or-got.347639/page-555#post-8770940 if you wanted the top side as well (does have a bottom one). Only problem I have had with it so far is the faces in the vinyl trigger the face detection of my camera when I need shots for something on the portal.

Nobody else playing it thus far? Been a few hours now so would normally expect to see a few more people having given it a go.

anyone else having issues getting this to load on TwilightMEnu++?2
I've been playing it on my 2DS with TWiLight Menu++/nds-bootstrap.
The only issue I've had was a castle basement floor loading as a garbled mess where I was unable to move. Transferred my save file over to my PC and played through that floor with melonDS, then transferred it back to the 2DS and all has been well again so far.

For now I'm just chalking it up to a bug in the version of nds-bootstrap included in TWiLight Menu++ at the time, I've since updated and there have been known bugfixes for other games. I wish I'd kept my save to experiment with, but I was more interested in just working around the problem and continuing playing at the time.

Since it's so close to the start of the game I might back up my save again and see if I can duplicate it. After I play a bit more... :yaynds:

too late can you check my save data? if i send you over pm?
To see if it's corrupted? You can find out by just reopening the game (It'll say something along the line of "oopsie, your data is busted" if it is)

If you can open it and the commands still don't work, then you'll have to start over

There's nothing for me to check, so you don't need to worry about sending me your save
