I would suggest formatting the system and updating the firmware (even if it is on the fw). Did you delete the Nintendo 3DS folder on your sd card?
I did delete the 3ds folder Also I have never formatted the system or updated the firmware before so can you please explain how to do that

I have a question about installing dlc. I have a japanese n3ds with cfw and all that stuff, I am trying to install the dlc for SMT IV but i keep geting the dlc not recognized error message. I tried US base game with US dlc and EU base game and eu dlc but neither worked, I also tried using lumalocale to switch the base game and dlc to all kinds of region to no avail. However Jp base game and jp dlc does work and the dlc get recognized, I can't read jp thought so that's not going to do anything for me. Does anyone have expreience with this and know any solution or is it just impossible?
In case anyone asks, I do have location emulation enabled by going to the luma config menu.

In fbi? Do you have the game update installed if there's one?
Try downloading from a different source, and make sure you have enough space on your sd card. The game should work..
The dlc not recognized message is from launching the game, which i do have installed. I tried a different source for the dlc cia too. I have plently of space as well. To be more specific the message says "The add-on content could not be recognized" after loading into the game.

Have you tried launching the game without the dlc being installed? I would suggest trying it..
See If it boots or if it gives you an Arm11/ ErrDisp error..
And you say Luma3DS Locale Switcher didn't work for you?
Do you have the game update installed if there's one?
^^Also this! Some DLCs require the game update to be installed, and iirc SMT IV has one..

the game launches fine without or with the dlc(except you have to go throught dlc not recognized error message from the image I attached previously with the dlc installed), I finished the game once a few years ago already. I wanted to replay it with dlc this time. I have tried installing the update, not very sure how I can confirm the update installed correctly. It does say Version 1.1 after installing the update in the corner of the bottom screen of the start screen whereas before it was empty. I will try out installing the update from a different source. (edit, it still does not work)

Yes the luma3ds locale switcher didn't seem to fix the problem

Do you think system version has anything to do with it? I'm still on 11.8.0, just updated luma though.

Can luma locale switcher work on cartridge?
I gonna a jp version of super smash bros (containing other languages inside it). However, to play this game in EL, i must region change my jp 3ds to usa. I dont want to region change my 3ds due to the eshop access problem, but still wan to play the game in EL. Does Luma locale switcher fix this problem?

Carts should work without the need of Luma Locale Switcher..

So can't you play it with the language that you want without doing a region change?
Or, it can allow you to choose that language only if you change the 3ds's region?
Have you tried with Luma3DS Locale Switcher?

Maybe, give it a try. You have set to something differ like US/EU if you think that will make give you the option to change the language..

The game match with the 3ds’ language. So if u have a US 3ds, the game will be in english automatically. And if u have a JP 3ds, the game will be in japanese. There no language option in the game. Thank for replying

So Luma Locale Switcher doesn't affect at all? Meaning, if you changed the game to boot like it's from the US region, it wouldn't display in English? Because the system's language is in Jr regardless..?
I would suggest trying it if you haven't. In the case it didn't work, you have 2 options, either get the US version of the game (either digitally or a cart), or do a region change. There's no other way around that. If you have no progress with this jp cart, i would suggest doing the former.
If you find the Japanese language cumbersome to navigate through with and without the game, and you are willing to sacrifice eShop access, then do the region change.
