We have resumed work on this once more! Many changes have been done, also thinking of moving away from using MEGA.
I'm very happy to ear this,SEGA did a huge damage to PS Vita by not localizing this game for western players,it could have been a killer application and boosted the hardware selling but they decided that some of theyr games aren't for the west.
You are doing a big gift to PS Vita community, even more big now that more consoles can be modded, take your time but please don't give up.

Don't fault this on SEGA. This is due to very poor sales of Nova that they felt that if their own audience disliked it, then there's definitely no chance of it surviving overseas. You can find Nova in most bargain bin sales for the vita in Japan.

Regarding string limits on PS Nova... Why not do what I did for my (yet to be released) Gundam 00 DS patch which restricted me to 2 letters per JP character... Do roundabout translations... Aka inaccurate but general translation. Like instead of ex: "The brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" just "the fox jumps over the dog"

I think that a western release would have done good sales,Vita western players really like the genre and PSN has also very good graphics and the overall style can be liked by a broad playerbase, they should have took the chance but SEGA isn't anymore the company that takes chances, now they go always on safe.

This is a very good idea, the important thing here is to make the game playable and the story understandable,no need to strees too much on semantics.

That's not something we can do. Not because of standards, but the text limits are pretty serve. We'd have something like "The fox jumps over".

Sorry for the incredible lack of updates, we got busy with PSO2 junk and now New Genesis. Thanks to a user in our Discord server by the name of kamenest21, the story translation is done. It's currently being proofread by volunteers, and is available to download in our Discord.

We're currently trying to get the cinematic cutscenes translated. They're being rather stubborn as we can shove them back into the game fairly easy, but then the sound on them cuts out no matter what audio encoding we do on them. We've even tried demuxing and muxing the old audio with our hard subbed cutscene video.

EDIT: I figured it out, using this ffmpeg command.
Code:
ffmpeg -y -i INPUTFILE.mp4 -flags +bitexact -vcodec libx264 -profile:v baseline -level 4.0 -s 960x544 -r 29.97 -acodec aac -b:a 96k -ar 48000 -f psp -strict -2 OUTPUTFILE.mp4

Downloads will be available in our Discord.

https://discord.gg/pso2

EDIT 2: Translation isn't "done" but rather at a good point where one could get the story done. DLCs aren't touched and there's some dialog bits that do need to be translated. Once we're ready for a final release, AIDA will update the main post with links and instructions.

Why the download on discord? I can't find it.

Me neither. Which is the Nova dedicated channel?
Gatekeeping at best. anyway I managed to get through all the unnecessary stuff and finally got the patch after a lot of wasted time.
You need to register a discord account, then register to their server, then click on a tiny sushi icon at the bottom of a wall of text in the section "rules and roles" ,then click the JP nova channel and finally going to the pin icon on the top of the page to open a pinned post where the actual download link lies well stowed away from unworthy eyes.

Oh, I see. I joined the server yesterday and clicked on the EN reaction icon, but not the JP (I thought it was Japanese speaking server). Just now I'm actually seeing the warning at the end of that pinned post: both channels speak English, just different versiones of the online game, lol. My bad.
Thank you.
